    "Mead" from Molasses?

One of my favourites, (newly!) is Cruzan Blackstrap. Now, this sounds weird, but it's good. 1 can Vernor's Gingerale. (No other Gingerale will work.) 12 ounces limeade or lemonade. 2 or 3 shots of Cruzan Blackstrap. Serve over ice, or do it like I do, and mix in a 1000mL Erlenmeyer flask...

    10 (gallon) cornie kegs

As far as I'm concerned, (and I've rebuilt hundreds of cornies) the in tube is the least important part in the keg. Seriously, except for holding that o-ring in place, I don't even know why they use them. Run a shorter one. You just may get an extra glass of beer in your keg! steve

    Land Shark.

Hi I'm Steve, and I'm a ParrotHead! But, only been one for a few months. I'm old enough to remember Margaritaville, when it came out. I also remember Come Monday, but I didn't realize JB wrote it, back then. I have been a big fan of JB's writing for quite a while, too. Where is Joe...

    Using beer yeast in mead

Oh Mighty Ali'i, Nottingham works just fine in Mead. I've used it before, and it leaves a bit more residual sugars than 1056 or S-05 do. In a Mead, I really like it! One of these days, I need to try 1968, and see how it is in a Mead. (But, the $7 a smack-pak, that LHBS charges, is a...

    Using beer yeast in mead

1056 will work just fine, on a lower-gravity mead. I'm thinking about 9 pounds for 5 gallons, or so. Your recipe looks good, to me. steve

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I started my last batch in December, and bottled it yesterday. Came out just fine! steve

    Frozen Beer!

Well, technically, that would be "freeze distilling," which our government has decided is a crime! (But, what do THEY know?) I'd, do it!:mug: steve

Holy Bad Customer Service Batman! Stpats of Texas

Guys, you want to have a "StPats" experience, go to Brewer's Connection, when the owner is working by himself. I have seen him physically throw a customer out, just for asking a question! Had Flyguy show up, when Jeffrey was there, he'd get yelled at, and I would have been threatened with...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Well, I've got my buyer looking for more Simply Apple! It comes out cloudy, but tastes AWESOME! steve

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I'm going to concur with this. Unless you are practicing GREAT sanitization rules, you want to clean out your fermenter every other batch. Otherwise, you risk infection.) Guys, (and gals) I used to do this professionally. (Making beer, that is.) We had bad batches, and itwas re-using...

    Yeah, who was it. steve

    Caramel cream ale?

Erick, that yeast will leave more residual sugars, than most other yeasts. I may use it, when I do this recipe, but I like sweeter beers. For a person with normal tastes, I would have changed yeasts, or cut back on the crystal malt, probably 30%, or so. steve

    hydometer

Denny's right. A hydrometer is a useful tool for AG stuff. (Although, you can check for conversion with a drop of Iodophor.) steve

    Straight A in dishwasher

Here's what the owner at my LHBS used to tell people, (this is the same icehole who fired me, after over a year) Put a capful of bleach in the bottom of your dishwasher, no soap, and run it on the "hot dry" cycle. Put your bottling bucket on the counter, full of your beer to be bottled, and...
  15. S

    hydometer

The use of a hydrometer, except in the case of a new brewer, is highly over-rated. As Uncle Charlie says, "R, DW, HAHB!" (Relax, don't worry, {and} have a HomeBrew!) If you're a new brewer, and your stuff is in the fermenter, wait a few extra days (after you think the ferment is over) to...

    Score..

Yep, if it is a keg, then it's stainless. Period! Aluminum, (or aluminium, for you Brits) is NOT something I'd like to store beer in, for any length of time. steve

    extra light extract

You just may want to shop for a real LHBS, if this is the case. There is a REAL difference. Find a LHBS who believes this, or try mail-order. (I should know, I bagged down MANY 50 or 55 pound bags of light and XL DME.)( I used to work at the LHBS.) Oh, the late addition is a great way...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Oh, just to let you all know, no rhinos were found in my tiny aprtment, using Nottingham yeast. Nary a one! Wine tastes good, though! Next time I can get some more Simply Apple, I'm doing another batch. No, it never cleared, but I'm not even worrying about that. I priced a 1.75L bottle of...

    F%$& home depot

Wait, you were on your way to the registers? Yep, perfect way to steal stuff!! You PAY for it, and steal it to your car! What a bleeping thief you are! Imagine, actually PAYING for copper! (Wouldn't pass here in Arizona!) (Can you detect the sarcasm here?) Someone in HD asks me what...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

If you're using more Dextrose, 3/4 cup, or 5 ounces. (One ounce per gallon.) If you're using something else, it varies. steve
