Why would the brew be shot after two minutes? Brave of you to post your brew day .I am always chasing info here on brew talk and started reading your day.Here is a question for you why not just pull the bag back out ?and let the mash water cool down

On a side note I also have a root cellar / garage pit in my shop i considered keg conditioning in there have you done that if so what are the temperatures in there I'm not going to be fermenting in there at all..

I just bring the mash up to 170 through the recirculation method without adding additional water

My recirculation method is to push it in on the bottom spigot draw off the top.. but I'm doing a full volume recirculation sometimes I've tried going from the top and letting it drain down out the bottom for the recirculation
