    First time kegging questions

my bet is on sticky regulator. your tank won't start losing pressure until it is absolutely completely empty.

    Crushing your own grains

you want the husks to remain whole, while crushing the grain itself as well as possible. The rotating wheel "Corona" style mills don't seem to work all that well because they tear the husk apart, but you can get by, especially if you're just crushing steeping grains for an extract brew session.

Groupon for tasting @ FunkWerks (Colorado)

Saw this today and bought. It's not the most stellar deal ever, but will make for a fun time sampling some stuff from a brewery I've never tried. Free FW tulip, too. Bonus. http://www.groupon.com/deals/funkwerks-denver?c=dnb&p=2 It's one of the side deals.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Carapils isn't really much for flavor. You'll be getting better head retention, though. If you're wanting to boost flavor, go for just a tad of one of the higher kilned malts like vienna, munich, victory, biscuit...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Backcountry is the name of a smallish brewery here in Colorado, Singletrack is the name of a beer by Boulder. The rest should be fair game. I'm partial to Straightline.

New method to harvest yeast from the fermenter

Is viewing gallery images really only for premies? That's kind of surprising... Can you cheapskates not see the image?

New method to harvest yeast from the fermenter

I tried the microwave, but couldn't shut the door. Boiled for 15 minutes per standard procedure and went for it! And yes, there's a picture from my HBT gallery linked.

Flow Meter for Detecting Leaks in CO2 Lines?

Wow that's pretty sensitive. bubble method is more sensitive, but still. I wouldn't trust it as my only detection method, but it would be more data, something we like!

New method to harvest yeast from the fermenter

Actually I had to resort to this method because the 002 did NOT want to go through the bottom of my conical. Concrete.

Flow Meter for Detecting Leaks in CO2 Lines?

Most leaks are so small you'll need a very sensitive gauge to see them. In my opinion, much easier to just spray each connection with soapy water and look for the bubbles. Since you're an experienced brewer, you've got a spray bottle full of Star San sitting around already, though, right? :)...

Please I need a question answered quickley!

N2 is 80% of what you breathe all day long. Safe. You can do almost any 5 gallon beer in a 6.5 mash tun. You could do low grav. 10 gallon batches.

What Would You Do... with old beer kits?

Remember that the kits are pre-hopped. Mind your IBUs.

What Would You Do... with old beer kits?

Chuck the inflated one, use the other one to make yeast starters. Old malt extract is not really your friend. EDIT: but apparently I'm the 3rd to suggest this. Note to self: read thread before posting.

I just dumped 5 gallons of beer down the drain

Right on. Why muscle through a batch that isn't enjoyable, or waste carboy/keg/bottle space letting it age for a year?
