Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison

Mad town can be pretty cool. Great Dane's beers have gotten much better over the last 5 years or so but they are not the best in town they can be very hit or miss, two weeks ago they were a miss. I typically go for the cask ales. Essen....well, it has to be experienced but their lines are...

Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison

All hail Ambergeddon :rockin: The hop is good but it has lost its luster with me. I'm not overly impressed with their new hop concoction though.

Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison

Later in the day we got some missed pours but when we went back things were always quickly clarified. It happens I suppose when the folks pouring aren't always from the brewery itself. Heck my wife even ended up volunteering at Minhas for a while.

Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison

Why oh why....WHY did I let my friend talk me into leaving the real ale tent? They will be forced to pay for this!!! Good time, good beer and good people. I did find one brewery that I know I will not revisit but other than that there were some very good offerings. Finding the Stone/jolly...

Great Taste of the Midwest, Madison

Going. 1st time and can't wait. P.S. For those interested, I have it from a reliable source that many of the participating brewers from out of town will be stationed at local establishments in the Madison area on Friday night. So if you are going and want a different setting or not going and...

    too long of fermentation?

Got it. Thanks Revvy!!! BTW... This type of thing is the reason I love this forum and also the reason why I'm finding I know more than quite a few people that have been brewing WAAYYY longer than I. Thanks HBT!

    too long of fermentation?

Sorry for the threadjack... ...BUT, in essence what I am gathering from this in regard to dry hopping and/or secondary additions is that the yeast and fermentation reactions taking place are not related to the flavoring processes that happen from additions. Does that sound correct? I have...

    too long of fermentation?

What about dry hopping or additions when using this method? Is there any real reason to rack to secondary early when dry hopping for example or could one just wait the 3-4 weeks and dry hop at that point? I find that occasionaly after transfering to the secondary I stir up a little yeast, or...

Ale Asylum Ambergeddon, Anyone tried this?

Madison, off of HWY 51 (a.k.a. Stoughton Rd.) about a mile or so north of East Washington Ave. Tours are every saturay at 6pm ish w/ $2 pints from 6-7. If coming from Milwaukee take I-94/90/39 to Hwy 51. Head south past the airport and its on the right at the stop light as you get into town...

Ale Asylum Ambergeddon, Anyone tried this?

I live 5 miles from the brewery. I call it there best beer. The hopilicious sells WAY more but I don't care for it as much. The amber is a hoppy amber with great body and mouthfeel. One of my favs.

    kegerator ideas

Just go with a concrete top and do it yourself. There are a number of online resources that could help you figure out how to do it yourself. Just make sure that you glue the entire face of the caps to your form so that the concrete can't seep underneath and cover that face.

    Kegerator setup question

Thanks all. I've pretty much decided to go the easy route for now and keep everything inside but I'll probably look into options when its time to upgrade. Now if I could only get my metal guy to finish that backsplash....

    Kegerator setup question

Thanks MNB but what I can't seem to find is a pic where a line only is run from the tank into the fridge without reducing the line pressure at the tank with a regulator. All the pics I find tend to have a regulator at the tank, similar to your pic, leading to either a splitter or secondary...

    Kegerator setup question

I am currently about 3/4th through a build and have run into some indecision as how to best setup my kegerator and I would like some opinions. The build is to convert a used and obtained for free refrigeratror that once had an ice/water supply through the original door. The conversion plan...

Keezer Almost Done.... Now I Need You

What is the difference between in or out? (no "feeling" jokes please) I'm in the process of a build myself and have been debating which way to go. Also, any problems in drilling the side of a refrigerator if deciding to go outside? I'm assuming I could find some sort of grommet or coupler at...
