New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Yakima's site says to only use 70% of the normal amount but I'm wondering how to account for it in Beersmith or Brewfather. I grabbed some Citra and Mosaic and can't wait to try it out.

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Got a 6.5 lb Boston Butt on the smoker going at 230. Pulled port tacos tonite!

    pH meter recommendations, please?

MW102 for me as well. I have a Pocket Pro+ Tester that worked well for about 10 months and started getting wonky. I knew I should have gotten the MW102 then but I was stubborn. Don't be like me, go for it! :)

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

I'm still tweaking but here's what I'm thinking about for an upcoming brew. Got tons of hop options but wanted to use what's listed for a number of reasons though I'm not very sure if they are the best option with Hornindal. I've always kept the hops with Hornindal to Mosaic and many of the C...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

:) It is amazing that it can taste as good as it does with a 95 degree ferment. And the aromas while fermenting are better to me than any version of Fabreze!

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Thanks much! Lately I've been adding some chocolate rye to my BIPA and it's not very noticeble in taste but does help the mouthfeel.

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

I love BIPA's. Would you care to share your recipe? I've got a Hornindal beer I'm brewing soon and am working on a recipe and am not sure where I want to go with it this time. I have a shyte-ton of different hops to play with and can't make up my mind for a big pale ale.

    Claw hammer supply vs. highgravitybrews

Ain't no one better than Dave! Had my system since October 2018 and have brewed about 25 times with it. My beers have never been better, easier and faster. I didn't take care of the temperature cable and sent it back to Dave to repair and he repaired it free and sent it back next day mail...

    Which Kveik Yeast is best?

I've used Omega Hornindal a number of times at different temps. Love them all. I'm always amazed how beer can taste so good and clean when fermented at 95. And to get a beer to keg in less than 6 days, I don't know why I don't use it more often. With summer here, I will do so more but I like...

American Pale Ale In The Pines West Coast Pale Ale

I brew with rye about every 4-5 brews and try different things with it, mostly I play around with hops and yeast. I also like to add some flaked rye sometimes. Just did a RyePA with whirlpool and dry hopped with cryo Citra and Simcoe and man, did that come out great! Can't always find cryo but...

    BIAB Amarillo cryo hopped lager

I just kegged and took a taste of my RyePA that I used Cryo Simcoe and Citra in a 15 whirpool and a dry hop. I used standard Simcoe and Citra at late boil as well. Followed up with Imperial Flagship which ove ratenuated but when dry hopping, I followed what I've read recently on AHA's website...

    Spike's upcoming eBIAB system

I don't doubt the quality is superb but I think the prices are a bit high. Just my 2 cents. Besides building your own setup, there are less expensive options that make great beer just like Spike's system obviously will. But man, is it sexy!

Water profile for an English Brown Porter

I've never brewed an English Brown Porter but have enjoyed a few different ones lately and would like to brew a few. I've got no idea what water profile to use. Anyone care to share a profile for one and what ph I should shoot for? Thanks.

    High Attenuation-Dry beer

I didn't taste any off flavors and it smelled wonderful! But it definitely was dry. Only 3 days in and it's very hard to tell and I only dry hop this early when doing NEIPA's but I figured, Cryo has less vegetable matter and it's either done or close to it so why not dry hop now (longer) and...

    High Attenuation-Dry beer

I brewed a RyePA Sunday and both the refractometer and hydrometer showed it was 1.062 (shooting for .64). I added the Tilt and it showed it as 1.059, no surprise. I oxygenated the 6 gallons in the fermenter for 45 seconds as I usually do and added a 2L yeast starter. The Imperial was just at...

    Water profile for a RyePA

Hmmm, now I'm feeling stupid. That makes sense but both Beersmith and Brewer's Friend gave me similar ratios. Even when I drop SO4 down to just below 200, it shows "SO42-/Cl- ratio: 3.8 More Bitter". Am I possibly reading this incorrectly?

    Water profile for a RyePA

My highest so far was about 225 and I didn't get any mineral or off tastes but it was a bit too bitter for me. Maybe the dryness added to it. A great majority of my pales and IPA's are under 200 but I recently did a recipe from the Electric Brewery (his IPA) and it was 225 and I actually...
