    Amylase Enzyme Question.....

    Sometimes there are non-fermentable sugars.

What beer/homebrew blogs/magazines do you read?

Nothing regular just articles when I’m searching for something.

    Amylase Enzyme Question.....

Did you make the recipe or did you download it from somewhere?

    Grainfather Glycol Chiller Opinions

I’m looking at picking one of these up secondhand but apparently never used. Just wondering if people are happy with them? Anything to know beforehand? Know issues etc?

How long can a starter last

Something has been on my mind about all the sanitary talk with yeast but then mixing unsanitary air into it. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Like boiling isn’t enough it has to be in a pressure cooker etc. but then we put on a stir plate or shake it to get air into it. So what gives?

How long can a starter last

If you have an aquarium aerator and diffuser you can add a sanitary filter in-line.

How long can a starter last

It took 2-3 days for some liquid Wyeast to show signed of life so you might have to wait a bit longer.

    Wedding brew name

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you are in the minority that makes it work. No regrets. I’d rather regret the things I have done than the things I haven’t. Lol

    Water salts when sparging

Dilution will change the pH won’t it?

painting volume lines inside my bucket

My first choice would be to get a different bucket. You probably could also use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the bucket and then mark in lines. Go slow and be careful to not soften too much.

    Wine ph Adjustment

You might want to get some better testing strips for a more narrow range. I find it highly unlikely it’s inbthe 2 range unless it’s coming from somewhere besides the 2lbs of fruit per gallon. Unless one of them is terribly acidic. Could test the fruits and maybe switch which fruits you are...

    Problem Kegging

Kind of defeats the purpose of a keg to have clean sediment free beer no? I suppose it settles to the bottom and does get sucked up except maybe the first pour. Why not just force carbonate it?

    Wine ph Adjustment

What range was the strip? Not sure whats so acidic. You can add chalk or potassium carbonate but the issue is you’ll have to cold stabilize it.

    Keezer vs kegerator

Well a kegerator is much less. I don’t think your going to improve that much if at all.

    Water salts when sparging

It’s ok to add all the salts to the mash water and skip the sparge water. It’s a pain to do them separate and annoying when the software can’t do a single combined addition.

    Keezer vs kegerator

So it cuts in after 30 minutes? Isn’t that good? A kegerator is a nice polished package and likely a smaller footprint but not insulated as well.

    Wine ph Adjustment

I’m not sure how you got a pH of 2 with 2lbs of fruit per gallon. How are you testing?

Wyeast straight from the fridge to the fermenter?

The instructions on the pack say that it’s fine. As long as you cool the wort down and oxygenate. Only thing is it might take a few days to show signs of fermentation.

Minimizing Oxygen During Flavor Additions in a Keg

I’ve been considering modifying my keg lid with a valve that has threads for a pop bottle. Keg land has these for dry hopping. If you use a T connector you can purge with co2. Granted the syringe looks like an easier solution with less to purge.

I need advice on pressing pears!!!

Use a juicer instead. Works great on apples. Just to add that a Breville centrifugal juice works a lot faster and doesn’t plug and is easier to clean than a Kuvings masticating juicer.
