    My advanced kettle jig.

A spare piece of 2x6 with a pvc cap screwed to the bottom. A couple of small pieces fastened together and ductape to attach the grinder. Ok so not the most advanced but I did manage to walk away with all my fingers. Sent from my HTC One using Home Brew mobile app

Perfect fan for stir plate build - with potentiometer - $5 shipped

OK mocked it up on my lunch break and here is what I did, will add a power switch and do proper isolated connections with shrink tube. Dont want any fire works :) 1) CON1 - cut the black/yellow lead from the molex adapter. 2) CON1 - connect black (-) and yellow (+) to your power source 3)...

Perfect fan for stir plate build - with potentiometer - $5 shipped

Anybody have some wiring diagrams for how they hooked all this up? I see 2 connectors a molex pass through and a motherboard connection. Also what size adapters are you using to power this up? The more I think about this : Power in via molex to con1 > regulated with potentiometer > voltage to...

    Inverted keg mash tun

The stand was built out of scrap 2x6 from used for shipping large pipe and fittings, its WAY over built but it was free. The mash tun tucks under nicely for storage and a quick mockup of the setup once completed. Next on the list is a pump for a direct fire RIMS setup.

    Inverted keg mash tun

Well I have had this miller keg for years, as a teen I hid it in the back corner of the yard under a trashcan and what do you know it was still there :) The bottom rim of the keg was destroyed and after discovering that I could invert the keg and use a bottom drain adapter from...

    Enzymes

I am wicked excited but I have a shoe string budget. I can justify my specialty grains though them but my base I will have to make myself. Still in the experimenting stage and plan on converting some of my regular recipes over to GF. The GF Revolution is kicking off for sure and this just...

    Enzymes

I crushed some pills but was making a lighter beer and concerned with the flavors of the papaya since it would stand out. Going to run a test adding it to 5g of water and boil it up to see how much flavor it could impart.

    All Grain GF

The grind is going to fun to figure out, from what I can see the finer the grind the better the efficiency BUT what good is it if you can't separate it? I did a 4 step mash so that helped out a bunch but switching to malted grains will help. For the first portion of the malting process I am...

    All Grain GF

I had a huge reply typed up and it failed to post, I hate this older version of vbulletin grrr. In a nut shell I figured that the flour was my issue, I went by advice I found on the Aussie forums but neglected to follow the lautering process in detail. Malting is the way to go so the nerd in me...

    All Grain GF

Alpha and Gluco, did the trick :) For lautering I used .8lbs of rice hulls but it was so thick and immediately clogged a piece of PVC with slits cut in it. Guess a braided line is in my future. I ended up using my paint strainer bags that I use for my BIAB and tea bagged into hot water to try...

    All Grain GF

This batch was a combo of various toasted versions of millet ground to flour and ended up with a porridge mixture. Was a PITA to separate. I did use a combo of enzymes to do my conversion

    Beer calculus

I didnt see them and just added them, I like aspects of Brewtoad but its very unfriendly on the smartphone and wish it had Beer.XML import capabilities.

    All Grain GF

Well Ive done a couple of regular all grain batchs to understand the process getting 80%, 88% efficiency so decided to take a wack at doing a GF batch and please to report I was able to use unmalted grains and get 75% :) Unfortunately due to life events I had to stop short of the boil so its a...

    Juicing sweet potatoes

Thanks for the input, when I first started looking into this I had only done extract brewing with my mr.beer keg in an apartment. I have been brewing all grain since using BIAB to understand the mashing process so I can ultimately go all grain GF. I have a pilot system setup (6x64oz growlers and...
