What I did for beer today

Nicely done! I should build myself a cabinet custom designed for holding my beer stuff.

    Nice 40oz Stainless Growlers - $10-11

They have nice stainless 'growlers' on sale $10-11 at Northern Brewer. Normally these are about $40. I bought 3 of them, one of which my teenage daughter stole immediately. They're really nice when you just want to bring some brew over to a friend's house. Also they're insulated and have a wide...

    Lockdown Beer recipe Naming

Ok, so I know a LOT of you have brewed beer during this whole COVID-19 Lockdown. Obviously #1 we have more time on our hands, or #2 unfortunately may be involuntarily unemployed... In any case, let's hear it - what have your named your beers as related to COVID? I've brewed 3: Red Moon Shut-In...

    How did you find us?

It was a message from God... I know, you were all expecting "Google search" but no. It seriously was a message from God.

What I did for beer today

Bottled direct from keg using my Blichmann Beer Gun (second time I used it). Works really well. I just need to be more patient - still working out the optimum beer and CO2 pressure. Edit: Almost forgot - ordered more bottle caps and another grain bill from my LHBS. They are open for pickups...

Overcarbed Keg? Here's an INSTANT SOLUTION!

Not trying to be a smartass, but I just try to be careful not to overcarb in the first place. Knock on wood! :D

    Bottle Cap Art

Depends on how deep it is. You can also do multiple layers. Just let the previous layer cure, and lightly sand it. If done properly, you can't see the interface between the layers. If you do a few layers and reduce the depth for each layer, then the tape alone is fine, but also depends on the...

I've been able to create dams for epoxy control out of masking tape and/or duct tape.

That should look really cool. I never thought of using crushed bottle glass - sounds like a great idea!

    Keg to bottle?

So I got my Beer Gun delivered yesterday. I bottled a 12-pack from my keg in about 30 minutes (learning curve included). First few bottles didn't have a consistent fill line, but once I got the hang of it, they were mostly good. I did NOT chill my bottles, but I think I will next time. Cleanup...

RED MOON is my version of blue moon - great orange/coriander taste. A little light for me at 4.3%. But very refreshing. Brewed with red wheat malt.
