So I emailed fermentis, and the batch code on my packets corresponds with an ale yeast that was mislabeled as a lager yeast...thanks for all your input! By the way...if you have s-33 packs with the following numbers on it know that you really have an ale yeast: 78526 111 1229

I'm brewing a lager tomorrow but the yeast that came with my kit was dead (wyeast 2007...didn't inflate after smacking the pack)...went to the lhbs and picked up the only lager yeast they had so I can get my starter started... Well I come home, and upon further inspection see that I bought s-33...

I've brewed on and off for a couple of years.

Racked onto the rum last night...there seems to be a layer of lighter liquid at the top of the carboy...hopefully I'm seeing things, however has anyone maybe noticed if the rum separates out of the beer while in secondary?:confused:

Just brewed this yesterday! Smelled awesome, and the hydro sample tasted pretty darn good. Looking forward to seeing how this beer ends up conditioning. Only real modification I made was adding 30 oz of pumpkin at 20min, and the other 30 oz in primary.
