    Sierra Nevada Resilience IPA

As many of you probably know, Sierra Nevada created a recipe they're calling Resilience IPA, convinced over a hundred breweries to make it yesterday (11/27) and donate the entire proceeds to a Camp Fire Relief Fund they created. They also worked with suppliers to donate many of the raw...

What's your tracking status? Mine has changed from "Scheduled Delivery Tuesday 11/27/2018 by end of day" to "Pending", and is still in the "label created" stage, so it doesn't look like it's actually gone anywhere.

There's an exploded diagram on page 9 of the stand assembly manual. You're very close. It's actually square tubing on the top and bottom, with round tube sandwiched inside and a sort of built-in flange to allow the top part to rotate freely.

Most USB power supplies these days--including the one that comes with the Kindle Fire HD tablet that Mike just bought--are multi-voltage, and will work fine on the 240V tablet outlet on the BB controller. If you look at the picture on the page for the configurable system, it shows the tablet...

Yeah I also got three of the new kegs they had on sale, they showed up yesterday. Refrigerators (fermentation chambers) arrived about 30 mins ago. Fermenters will be here tomorrow, Brew Boss was supposed to be today, but is still listed as "Label Created" so it would surprise me.

    Picobrew Z

Would kind of defeat the design purpose of the unit, but I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to modify a 7-gallon brewbucket to be used as a single vessel for a 5-gallon batch in a Z2. Hook the inputs up to the drain, maybe put a couple of these in the lid for the return.

    Is GFCI really needed?

Correct. A breaker is designed to protect the wiring and outlets, by ensuring that no more than the rated current passes through them. #10 wire and a 30 amp outlet could start a fire if say, 100 amps were delivered through them. But the breaker doesn't care what those 30A (to use an example)...

    Is GFCI really needed?

I think you're right. Ironically enough, that was the first one I looked at. :)

    Is GFCI really needed?

You have this breaker, which as passedpawn mentioned, is a standard breaker with a trip flag. I'm pretty sure this is the one you need. All GFCI breakers will have a test button and a neutral "pigtail". You wouldn't see the latter unless you take the cover off the panel.

    Is GFCI really needed?

Yup. I've only ever had a GFCI trip "in anger" once, and I was incredibly glad it was there. I was using an electric snowblower, and went far enough that I yanked the cord out of the outlet. Went back and plugged it in, and got a pretty eye-opening shock, right as the button popped out. My...

Thanks TennBrewer, that makes me sure that the 15 Gallon was the right size for me. I don't anticipate doing any 10-gallon batches in the near future, and if I did, it wouldn't bother me to keep a couple gallons of sparge water in a cooler, or in a pot on an induction burner so that I could hit...

I did check again later in the day, and the chiller was back in stock (at least I was able to add it to the cart), and it appears to be available now. So I think I just messed up the timing on you. The one you found is indeed identical to the one in the kit. It probably is cheaper if you...

Nope. Sent Darin a note asking if he could add it manually or provide an equivalent discount. I'd honestly prefer the latter, since I just ordered 2 SS Brewbuckets along with a pair each of refrigerators/heating mats/inkbird controllers to host them. Edit: Already heard back (twice!) from...

    It can't be this difficult!

Ack! This means it has never been to code. There used to be an exemption that allowed this, provided the outlet was directly attached to the service entrance (main panel) where the neutral and ground are bonded. See this from the thread I linked: Yes. To be clear, by "coming out" I mean...

    It can't be this difficult!

The situation he's describing is where only three wires are coming into the spa panel. You have four. Ground and neutral should be bridged in every electrical system in one and only one place--nearly always the main panel. Bridging them again elsewhere in the system provides an alternate path...
