    nice. one of the kegs I got my hands on was in a neighbors back yard for 14 years. half full....... this. smelled of pure vinegar. yum. [/IMG]

    Question about sanke keg fermenting

    I ferment 12 gal batches in 15.5 gal sanke's. I use #11 rubber bung stopper things and regular 3 piece airlocks. A typical auto-siphon is the perfect length to get every drop out of the keg and into 2 bottling buckets, which makes for a nice assembly line if you have a couple bottling helpers...

    personally I wouldn't. You could introduce something and get infected. I would just adjust your water quantity for next time. If you are going to do it, I'd boil the water first then let it cool to the exact same temp as the fermenting beer so as not to shock the yeast. Maybe it would be wise...

    interesting. I've only used Iodophor so far, bought the big bottle so it's lasting a while. I'd like to switch to starsan so all my plastic stops turning pink.... I only put water in my airlocks, my buddy puts cheap vodka.... but i'd rather drink the cheap vodka.....

    15 gallon brew stand, 5 gallon batches?

    My only problem when I do this is I mounted my thermometer too high on my keggle mash tun, leaving it measuring open air during 5 gallon batches.... oops.
