    The Home Made Pizza Thread

Hosted a pizza party / get-together with friends on Friday and made three pies. The first: Bacon, Italian chicken Sausage, Peperoncini, Whole milk mozz, and goat cheese. The second was caramelized Mushrooms & onions, peperoncini, artichoke, black olives, green pepper, red onions, and...

    Homemade Bread Thread

I have a breadmaker, but I use it only to make dough (because I'm lazy). I (and at least one other person on here) bought the Cuisinart CBK-100 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker refurbished on eBay for $40-50. Works great for making dough, but as we all know you can make much better bread in the...

Plastic / glass or metal? I have some cereal bowls that are ceramic, but I'm afraid they aren't big enough. Also what is pine sized? I'm unfamiliar with this scale :mug:

    Homemade Bread Thread

Haha, Chef, you're killing me! Not yet, but since you keep asking, I suppose I'll get my butt in gear and stop by Bed Bath & Beyond tonight to see if they have any of these Bormioli Rocco 67.5 oz Fido Jars! I've been (lazily) looking for something big and glass to do my starter in, but these...

    Homemade Bread Thread

Long story short, was cleaning my oven the other day and my pizza stone broke. Went to Menards and got six 4.5 x 9 x 1-1/4" firebricks to replace it. Made the dough thursday, it sit out overnight friday / saturday morning and was ready to bake it around noon when plans changed. Didn't...

Yep, as @Beernbourbon said, always use a blowoff tube, at least during primary.

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

@ChefRex, embarassingly no, I haven't found a good/large container to do my starter in yet, it's on my list before years end for sure! First of two pies for today... homemade marinara from whole / discarded tomatoes at the farmers market (reduced because they were soft / had black spots in...

The hopefully not obnoxious wood fired brick oven build thread

I couldn't help but notice the envy you've got for PTN... is your logo designed around his pizza oven?

    PBW In Dishwasher?

Suppose I load my dishwasher with glassware and load up the thing with PBW, does this work well as an alternative to cleaning glassware with Vinegar?

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

None taken (nor intended)! This (and the bread thread) has helped me get leaps and bounds better than where I was just a couple months ago... and I first started making pies in January 2010/11 :) September 2012 January 2014 (holy crap this was a terrible looking / mediocre pie!) April...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

That's saying something, because there are tons of delicious looking pies here! I made sauce a week ago, but had too many things going on last week (brewery stops, drinking with buddies, Halloween bonfire with my homebrew, making BBQ sauce, pulled pork, mac & cheese and soup) to get around to...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

Totally agree with the guys above. I use a pizza peel (but if you don't have one, perhaps turn a cookie tray upside down?) that is usually a bit too small for my pies, so the crust usually hangs over the edge just a little bit, but backing up... before i build my pie I flour the bottom of it...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Stopped by the grocery to pick up a few things for pulled pork & the BBQ sauce, but ended up getting enough to make 4 different meals... coming up, pizza (bacon, pepperoni, black olives), pulled pork, and homemade mac & cheese... tonight, made a quick and dirty 1 lbs meatloaf with jalapenos...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Well, I was going to dice it up and put it in my BBQ suace in anticipation it was going to be quite hot! But from what you're saying, perhaps I should just cut it open, let it cook with the sauce, then remove it? I'm adding the pineapple in addition to the apples to help counteract the heat.
