    keezer air circulation question

I added a bilge fan to my keezer set up to push the cold air up and cirulate the it a little better. My question is should I set the fan to only activate at certain temps to save energy? I have a temp control module with two sets of control. I was thinking it might work to have it kick on at...

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

I do have a spare regulator so yeah, that's probably what I will do. There is room in the keezer for 4 or 5 kegs. Since I brew a batch or two a month space SHOULDN'T be an issue. I had been doing the priming sugar in the keg for about 4 weeks at 70F. Lot to think on from this thread.

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

It was one of the gents at Midwest Supply that gave me my info about beer gassing. I have, to this time, only brewed from their kits, which have the prepackaged amount of corn sugar. I don't recall him mentioning using or not using the sugar. I assume they know what they are talking about...

Looking for Brewing club in KC/Overland Park area

Definite maybe for the May 19th one but tonight was too short a notice to spring it on her. Sounds like a hoot. How late do they generally go?

Looking for Brewing club in KC/Overland Park area

Well, I didn't know if there was actual business or whatever at the meetings and I didn't want to interrupt ;) We have a church bonfire tonight so no go for this one. Definitely going to try for the May one though. If I bring the Mrs. should I bring a 12 pack or does a sixer cover the pair...

Looking for Brewing club in KC/Overland Park area

Hmmm, Friday night is usually date night with the wife. I might be able to convince her to join me though since it's just once a month. Question. I work till 7, how is late arrival looked at?

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

Wow, that's a ton of good info. Thanks to all of you. Though I'm loathe to pull apart my coffin box again, I believe I'll have to to add the new 10' fluid lines. To be fair, I wasn't told I COULDN'T force carbonate with beer gas. I was just told that the much lower amount of CO2 would make...

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

No, I get that. But the chart says it's for force carbonation. I took that to mean that if you want to expedite the carbonation process rather than just waiting for the priming sugars to work then you hook up the CO2 at those levels for that type of beer. But you never force carbonate with...

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

I read that for most brews you want at least 6' for the smaller liquid lines. I'm not sure about the stout tap because it came with the hose clamped on but the other 3 have a little over 6'. The Altbier foams up pretty bad and the IPA comes out smooth. They both have the same co2 and the...

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

That chart seems to be for force carbonating, which is good to know. It's not what I was looking for though. I mean like does a pilsner require a different pressure to get good carbonation out of the tap than an ale or a bock? Everything I've been able to find usually says set the CO2 at...

Different beers and how much CO2 pressure they want

I've only been brewing for about 6 months and know only enough to know I need to know a lot more. So far I've had good luck and everything has tasted great. After a mammoth bottling session (11ish gallons in to 120 bottles) I decided it was time to start kegging. I've got 3 batches kegged now...

    Wine barrel hop growing

That makes sense then. Just wasn't sure if as a start it was easier to get them going in that environment or if there was an advantage to the staking you did. Is the pole best or would a rose trellis work? Obviously I'm a neophyte here.

    Wine barrel hop growing

Is there an advantage to this type of planting vs. in the ground?

Hmmm, very tempting. Probably be something I do next year.

    Keezer beautification project question

I think I may install a vent on either side and use pc style fans or something behind them to push out the warm air.

    Keezer beautification project question

but then I see his finished cabinet... The back is open, which makes sense. I THINK there's an inch or two space for air on the sides but I can't be sure from that angle. The front doesn't seem to have any though. It's a puzzle.

    Keezer beautification project question

Well, the roller frame is built to fit under it without being seen. Since there's no overhang I'd have to somehow connect it to the underside of the roller frame in a way that's secure enough to hold the weight of the cabinet. I figure that the lid will overhang the cabinet so that it's...

Looking for Brewing club in KC/Overland Park area

I live up in the northland by WoF but am interested in finding a group that gathers once or twice a month to talk shop and maybe trade a bottle or two. Anything like that around here?

    Keezer beautification project question

OK, I have a keezer that's approx 47"w x 22"l x 3.25' tall. It's tall enough I don't need a collar. Right now it's resting on a frame made from a 2x6 on heavy casters. The lid has a sheet of plywood on it that I plan to tile and trim. That's all fine. My question is how do I attach the...
