My Plan: Keg first, bottle second... suggestions?

When bottling, typically I believe you would use 5oz priming sugar per five -six gal. batch, which is 1 oz per gal. I would boil 1 oz of priming sugar with a little water on the stove, and mix it in with the remainimg 1 gal. of beer, and then bottle as normal.

    Canning Wort for Starters

I do not have a pressure cooker, but I do have a vacuum sealer. Would I be able to boil my wort, chill, then can in mason jars, and seal them with the foodsaver mason jar attachment and get the same results? Reviews say the mason jar attachment work great. If I did this, I would not need to...

    Terrible night

Beer will not be diluted due to freeze concentration. I actually removed more water than was added with the star san solution

    ed worts haus pale ale

I tested my hydrometerin water- 1.000. Keg is carbed up, and tasted last night. Tastes great, a little light in flavor, but nice flavor. As I habe never brewed this before, I do not have a comparative, but very drinkable.

    Terrible night

So I took a ph reading with my beer ph strips the other night, and it read the lowest color/# they test for which is a ph of 4.6. I decided that I was unsure weather they would show a different color if it was lower that 4.6, or if it would stay at that yellow. Last night I purchased some wine...

    Terrible night

As my only chance of salvage, I froze the keg over night, and scooped out about 1 1/4 gallon worth of ice this morning. Not thrilled, but worth a shot. Gonna carb and taste. If it indeed tastes bad, I will dump. I am sure I removed at least as much water as I accidentaly added. It will be...

    ed worts haus pale ale

I mashed at 151. I typically have been losing 2-3 degrees in my cooler mash tun.

    Terrible night

I did actually spill a decent amount. I was not pumping the star san through with gas, I was pouring it keg to keg, and had some spillage. I did not consider freezing it and removing ice. Sounds like my only hope. I will give that a try tonight.

    ed worts haus pale ale

Original gravity was 1.051 at 67 degrees. Final 1.002 gravity was at 65 degrees. I did not add any sugar, and I did not taste it. I just took a reading im the bucket. Planning to rack to a keg this weekend.

    ed worts haus pale ale

I brewed ed worts haus pald ale nearly two weeks ago. I checked the gravity tonight, and it read 1.002. How did this ferment so dry. Im pretty new to this, so im curious if I did something wrong. It was only my 3rd all grain batch. I thought I hit all my temps/numbers pretty good. I assume this...

    Terrible night

Well, I finally moved up to the kegging world, and not a good first go at it. I cleaned my 4 kegs, ran a gallon of star san solution through them, and left the remainder of the gallon solution in the last keg. Had all 4 kegs im a row. I got distracted several times by the wife and baby, lost...

Hops are extremely dangerous for dogs!

Wow, hope your dog is ok. That will make me think twice about where I wash out my equipment. I just washed out my pliny clones secondary carboy in the back yard due to the three inches of hop trub in the bottom. Luckily my 100 lb american bulldog must have left it alone.thanks for the tip though.

    Efficiency problem

I hit my temps perfect on this one, 151 on the mash, stired a few times through the 60 min, and wound up at 149 at the end. The grain I bought was all crushed at the lhbs. My 2 row was pre crushed by them and packaged, my other grains were all crushed by me on their mill. Might consider running...

    Efficiency problem

So today I brewed my seventh batch ever, second all grain. I brewed the deception stout recipe. I actually brewed this recipe already using extract, but it went so fast that I actually got a request from the wife to make it again. Anyways, my last batch I only a achieved 61 % efficiency. Long...

    Am I Infected?

Thanks for the reassurance. It is my first all grain batch, sixth batch in all. I'm used to the krausen falling and being gone by this point. Maybe a difference b/w all grain and extract, I dont know?

    Am I Infected?

I brewed the carmel amber ale recipe last sunday. I opened my bucket today to get a gravity reading, as it stopped bubbling two days ago. All I see is a foamy substance on top, that also is in my blow off tube. I would have expected the krausen to have fallen by now. Am I infected? It smells...
