    What a weird brew day....

Yea something off with the estimate. I use the mobile version but it might have funny numbers entered for quantities somewhere, like boil off or whatever. If so the chances are that your ibus will be off to a corresponding degree and you can just dilute no bother. One of my better Beers was a...

    Considering a stout....ingredient recommendations please

Depends really. Personally I'm a fan of trying to get it from grain, but a lot of the big ris American style things throw the entire larder in. Some carafa 2 and brown malt will set off chocolate flavours. Try to get the peanut butter from the bottom of the jar. Don't go to heavy on the really...

    Homemade PBW Recipe

So mixed up the chemicals. Seems to be good using straight percarb, metasillicate and tetra edta. Meta was pentahydrate form. Side note is that I saw some pbw in a lhbs and it still contains phosphate here in the UK. Who knew our environment boys were even worse than the epa!

    Considering a stout....ingredient recommendations please

I pretty much consider a stout to not have any crystal as opposed to porter which does and keep the grain bill pretty simple, top and tail sort of thing... I imagine if you are adding peanut butter you would want to take care to minimise the oily part as much as possible.

Medical beer. For falling down with.

I'm currently trying to find co2 cartriges in Ireland for a wedding my beer is fuelling, and it occurred to me that nitrous oxide is actually cheaper, and then I thought, surely some damn fool has 'carbonated' beer with laughing gas? Doubt It'd do much, I know that helium beer video was nonsense...

A Genuine Viewpoint Opposing LODO As Unsubstantiated

I've made a proposal to the international space station for an opportunity to brew in space. It's the only way we'll settle this business.

Another bitter and sour beer, not in a good way

I had one batch go super super sour by the time primary has finished with a tonne of hops in it... Tasted like lactic but no idea what demon mutant caused it. Also have a recurring aerobic critter that resists all boiling and chemicals seemingly, but fortunately only grows in air.

Is dry hopping as dangerous as some make it out to be?

That's not something that's going to happen.

    Brown porter critique

40% brown malt! Shyeeeeet that sounds craycray. I'm not saying its not true Im not even sure I know what brown porter is exactly, but I reserve the right to be baffled. Simpsons says up to 10 percent for brown malt..

Help me concoct a fine ale

I find it hard not to make good ale. Just get some brewing software to keep the ibus in check and don't go too high on caramel Malts to start with and you can't go too wrong. Play about with early late additions of hops. Have fun. Smash is a good idea too, but there's nothing wrong with a bit...

Cider from home pressed apples and without adding yeast

My experience is not huge, but I did it the way described above and although it started out smelling amazing it ended up a dumper with lots of harsh solvent badness, and someone told me I should have added a small dose of campden... Not sure if this would have worked, however the other half...
