    Hello from Washington

http://www.healthcrafts.com/ Coming South on I-5 you would get off on Pacific and make a Right, It's a few blocks past the Ford dealership on the Left. It's kind of hidden behind some commercial buildings up the hill and not visible from the street but throw the address in google and you...

My landlord told me to stop brewing!

Typically those types of stipulations would be in the lease at the time of signing. They can't just make up rules as you go. Exclusions of that nature(smoking, pets, brewing) would need to be specifically defined in the lease, otherwise it would be interpreted as allowed, not the other way...

    Hello from Washington

Thanks for the heads up. There is a decent one off of Pacific in Lacey that has bulk extract, grains, and decent prices, that I have been using. I'll have to check out Tacoma next time Im up that way. Appreciate the info. :mug:

Confused..how does Mr. Beer ferment without an airlock???

I sealed the notches on mine up, drilled a hole in the lid, installed a grommet, and use a 3 piece airlock. It worked fine the way it was, but I felt the need to put my 50K$ microbiology degree to some use for the first time in 20 years.

    plastic buckets??

Those all sound good. My current favorite beer is Deschutes Black Butte Porter. Where did you find a recipe for the double choc stout? It sounds like something I might like.

    plastic buckets??

What kind of beers do you have planned? I like the idea of smaller batches for something I don't know if I will like. I still keep my Mr. Beer around for just that purpose.:rockin:

    plastic buckets??

Good to know. I was under the impression all the buckets were the same diameter (thus using the same lid). Not at home so I cant easily check right now. But I know I stack all my buckets together when storing them. I'm looking for a few more myself so off to HD I will go. :ban:

    plastic buckets??

I am guessing if the guy sells paint in buckets, he's going to have some lids. :mug: If not you can get them from midwest, northern, ahs, and probably your lhbs as well. Good hookup on the buckets.

    Bottle Capper

Once the "new hobby novelty" factor wears off I can see brewing about one 5gal batch every three months or so. Right now I'm pretty gung ho but I know how I am. Not looking to get the best.... just something that is not junk and will work when I need it to. Thats basically what my...

    Bottle Capper

What should I look for in a good bottle capper? I see a few different ones out there. Are they all basically the same or is one better?

use a mixer to dissolve DME?

I like to just use my spoon and stir it in. Stirring the pot makes me feel good.

    Hello from Washington

Thanks for the advice. I see a couple of the vendors here offer 8$ shipping.... that's not bad at all. I'm fortunate to have a couple of local stores as well for supplies. I am finding that there are lots of goodies to add to the want list.
