fish tank heater to keep wort at perfect temp

I use a large muck bucket from the feed store and a 75Watt aquarium heater...better bottle fermenter goes in water bath...this allows me to ferment ales in the basement, and maintain a steady temp (usually abt 67 - 70)..utterly simple and the yeast are happy which means good beer :cross:

Has anyone used Pestacator for mice

I have had it with the mice crawling in the walls ... happens every year when temps drop.. Asked the guy at the hardware for their best mouse trap...he sold me on an electronic device called a Pestacator..... it sends out a electro-magnetic pulse over the house wiring which "annoys rodents"...

wow, wlp550 seems like a beast

I have only used maybe 10 different yeasts, but 550 seems the most vigorous of all...pitched a regular starter into a 1054 Abbey Ale clone..24 hours later, my airlock is on the basement floor 6 ft from my frementer while I saw a volcano lava display out the neck of the better bottle...switched...

    Carboy vs Bucket Fermentation

I like the better bottles bec I can see what is up .. they are not hard to clean with an overnight soak in OxiClean, and they don't sever veins

    Insanely active yeast?

I am doing a belgian clone with some WLP550, and w/in 24 hours of pitching, I found the stopper and airlock 6 feet away from the fermenter (which was being held at 68 deg)...crazy yeast! now am using blowoff tube, but this launch was really unexpected...
