find a lhbs and visit. ask if they special order or only carry whats on the floor. find a microbrewery and ask if they can supply . never hurts to ask. ii still visit my lhbs in huntsville al, and they will order anything i ask . otherwise i go online if im not in any hurry.

i usually order my supplies online. i'll be on overtime for the next week or 2 but with my route home being only 5 minutes out of the way to Pearlys , i just make the little detour off the parkway and pick up what i need. Only day theyre closed is sunday.

plain garden hose. i use it for AG brews too and it doesnt taste like that like it does with extracts. i'm going with the extracts already have minerals theory. i'll try the RO or distilled next extract brew and i'll add the extract at the end of the boil. that combination all sounds very plausible.

im not sure if STA sells brewing supplies. ive asked about some yeast but they looked at me like i was after their brewing secrets.

the extract instructions really need to to tell the brewers this information. it would be very helpful. after 6 yrs of brewing i never knew this. thanks

i did brew yesterday. i just brewed an AG Maertzen for celebrating the little one coming ....just in time for Oktoberfest. I'll run for the RO water for the extracts when i get more time. i appreciate your explanations .

Hey buddy , have you been to pearlys lately? I was there twice in a couple weeks, last visit was thursday when the storms were forcing us to shut down at work. , they expanded and organized their HB section .and the prices are actually competitive with online prices.

Henager...thats not far from Grant either. yall go up to Pearlys in H'ville. i was just there thursday. they only package most grains in 1 lb bags . but i did get a 10 lb of maris otter

with regards to store bought water...what do you suggest . with no way to add minerals i dont have . im left with the choices of distilled which isnt exactly easy to find ,or the various brands of filtered purified drinking waters and the bottled spring waters . i honestly want to get 2 of the 5...
