    PLC Controlled System

I am confused. You got a job in automation and developed a liking to beer and then when to college and developed your system? Looks cool and an interesting project. I use this stuff at work but have no idea how to program it.

    Online white labs purchase

If an ice pack is shipped with the yeast it is usually fine in my experience. I have had liquid yeast shipped to me when I lived in Hawaii, and I have had it shipped to me when living in Virginia during July and August. Buying local is best if you can.

    The 2016 NHC - Results/Speculation Thread

You aren't kidding. On my coffee stout one sheet reads "Big and Rich, Lots of coffee/chocolate notes." The other reads "Tough to pick out coffee from malt character." That's the tough thing about comp's, everybody's palate is different. Unfortunately I don't see anyway around it, but I know...

Question on my first brett beer

Thanks for the response. I think I will save my vial other vial of brett C and make a big several stage starter for an IPA. Now I love WLP 670 and use it a lot. I didn't realize it would over power the Brett c so much. Do you think I should pitch another strain of Brett down the road or...

Question on my first brett beer

Yeah, I was looking for a little tamer brett, so I wanted to try the brett C. I usually add fruit the way you do, but with this one I wasn't sure if adding it late and damaging the pellicle would be bad if it grew a pellicle. So, with these type of beers it's okay to add fruit later and...

Pay for BeerSmith, or BrewTarget for free?

Beersmith is the way to go for me. Totally worth the $20 or $25 I paid. It makes it really easy to create your own recipes. I hope this new update rumor is true. I will purchase it again if need be. IT has been a very valuable tool in my brewing practices.

Question on my first brett beer

I have just attempted my first brett beer and have a few questions for you guys. I did More Beer's Sour Blonde recipe which is: 8# Rahr 2-Row 3# Belgian pilsner 12 oz Crystal 15L 12 oz white wheat 1#Demerara sugar I decided with WLP 670 for the primary yeast, it is one my favorites...

    The 2016 NHC - Results/Speculation Thread

Got my score sheets the other day. No medals but got a 37 on my coffee stout which scored a second in the first round and 38 on Belgian Golden Strong which was administratively advanced since they misplaced it and did not judge it in the first round. Both of my beers had one judge say they...

    The last straw bottle filler

It has a lot of neat features, the lack of a tip that can fall being high on the list. The first one I got I could never get to work right and Northern Brewer ended up sending me a replacement. I haven't gotten to use the replacement yet.

    The last straw bottle filler

You said on the previous page that low psi (2psi) works best. Is that not the case?

    buying bulk juice or concentrate

Yeah, I found that, but it doesn't say where to buy. I was wondering if anyone knew a place to buy it before emailing Tree Top. I haven't heard of this before but would like to try it out.

Need help with my brewing book

:pipe: edit: OP edited his reply to Fatdragon to not sound as snotty, so the escalation post I made might not be as relevant as before his original post was made.

I wonder where you can buy it. I did a quick Google search but didn't see any info on where to buy.

    The last straw bottle filler

This one is designed to bottle at serving pressure instead of the 2-6 lower pressure than the Blichmann. Also instead of the rubber tip that falls off every now and then which the Last straw has a metal tip that you depress. The Last Straw also has a clip that allows it clip onto the side of a...

    The last straw bottle filler

You are supposed to use serving pressure with the "Last Straw" filler which is between 8 and 12 psi. The Blichmann beer gun is supposed to be used between 2-6 psi.
