From "OK" to "Wow"....how to get there

@SoggyWood Man I just had an amazing IPA and decided that the flavor from more than substantial dry hops thus far had faded a bit, revealing a bit more ibus than I prefer. Solution: add more dry hops. Well apparently it doesn't always work like that haha, still tasty, lots of pineapple and...

From "OK" to "Wow"....how to get there

Yes. Its simple, but not quick or easy. It wont happen your next brew, and the more often you do it the better/more consistent your practices will become. Two main factor groups are your processes and your controls. In this example processes are things that you do, controls are things your...

Brewing the same beer for a year: Iteration 1

@Owly055 would you be making the same recipe just several continuous batches or actually blending different recipes/styles together?

Brewing the same beer for a year: Iteration 1

Kinda off topic but I've seen so many experienced brewers on here talk about going back to the stove-top with small batches... Its definitely something I've been considering just to fit more brews into a month, and I think that would allow me to take on a continual recipe without sacrificing...

Brewing the same beer for a year: Iteration 1

I think its an awesome project. It might not be for everyone but I could definitely see myself doing this to try to make something the best it can be.

Feeling lousy after drinking gf homebrew

An inline filter would remove most of the yeast. You could also try pasturizing the beer

    ebiab Cleaning time savers???

Yeah just scrub the residue, rinse with the warm/hot water, I like to dry the outside/inside to keep it looking fly:mug: The kettle is not what takes me a long time to clean, for me its all the little separate things that require cleaning and organizing to get the space back to the state it was...

Feeling lousy after drinking gf homebrew

Can the beer ever be fully GF? If not, you might be faced with either quitting or trying to counter the imbalance in other areas such as diet and exercise. I know that regular exercise definitely helps me enjoy my brews and gives me more energy. I hope you can find a solution and still enjoy...

    Intertap beer faucets

Whenever I build my collar and get ready for real taps i'm 100% going intertap. Heard nothing but good things and come on, being able to switch between a stout/regular faucet for a fraction of the price is probably the best feature of any tap on the market.

Girl Scout Cookie Caramel Delites (Samoas) Beer

I am wondering how sweet this comes out? Sounds pretty amazing if it can stay crisp enough.

My Short n Shoddy brew based on Brulosophy xBmt

Excellent brulosophy read and i am very interested to see how your batch turns out. Of course we can always do more and take more time to try and make a batch our best, and I am always trying to improve my techniques, but if i can make solid beer in half the time sign me up! Not to say i would...

    Video Games

Does anyone play heroes of the storm or diablo 3? I am looking forward to the necromancer release in d3. Would also definitely be interested in playing some more late game d2 for nostalgia, let me know if anyone has been enjoying that recently.

    Safale 05

As a side note, worry about the yeast before it's pitched not after! Aside from fermentation temp control you just should let it do its thing. I've had healthy fermentations where I didn't notice activity in the airlock for like 4 days.

    Safale 05

This might not be super relevant but its advice that helped me never have to worry about yeast again. Pitching at too high of a temp can cause gnarly esters that will not taste pleasant. For most styles there is no reason to pitch above 70 degrees, even if you plan on continuing to lower that...
