New to Kegging/Bubbles in beer line problem

Okay, small update. I partially fixed the problem. It seems I had an air leak in my beer line. I reseated the beer line and added a couple of hose clamps. Now the bubbles in the beer line are much less. But I'm still getting foam instead of beer.

New to Kegging/Bubbles in beer line problem

I got sick of bottling and decided to upgrade to a kegging system. I get a couple of corny kegs, regulator, 5lb CO2 bottle and set it up. So far so good. I got some homebrew sitting in a couple of kegs but it won't be ready to drink for several more weeks. So time to hit the distributor and...

Thanks for the replies. I think I understand:)

    Mash Temp Profile question

I always see temp profiles that go low to high. That is people mash at a lower temp, then step up to a higher temp. Why is it never the reverse? Start your mast at a higher temp and let it fall to a lower temp.

Ha! I spilled a beer into a laptop too. It belonged to SWMBO and she wasn't happy about it ;)

    Glass Carboy Blow off

I use a 5 gallon bucket as my primary. I do partial boil batches and just don't quite top the bucket up all the way. Yeah, I lose some beer in the blowoff, but not much. I get 4.5 gallons of beer out of each batch. Maybe loose a quart or two in blowoff. Just use a big tube for your...

locking out my tap ?..any ideas

I'm sorry, but I just got to ask. Why was she naked? I did a lot of stupid drinking in my youth (and not so youth) but I've never ended up passed out naked. On a more serious note. I don't think a lock is the answer here. Kids can get alchohol just about anywhere. Lock out...

    Lowenbrau clone

Thanks for the help. I wonder why the recipe calls for pistachios?

    Lowenbrau clone

Wow man, don't know what you were drinking, but it doesn't sound like what I had last night. According to wikipedia, there is a Miller brewed version of Lowenbrau, perhaps this is where you're getting this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowenbrau

    Lowenbrau clone

I recently got my hands on a case of Lowenbrau. Its been quite a while since I've had this beer and I've got to say, I really enjoyed it. Nice clean malty taste, low in hops, easy drinking. Quite different than the strong hoppy ales I've been brewing up. So it got me thinking. Winter is...

I Thought I Learned My Lesson

Be careful with that CD. Those CD's you burn at home can have a very short shelf life if not stored carefully. And even if stored carefully they tend to just start going bad after 5 or so years. A quick google search led me to this http://www.pcdoctor-guide.com/wordpress/?page_id=247

New wort right on top of old trub?

Thanks guys. I love when people tell me what I want to hear :-) I guess having two worts worth of trub in the bottom of my fermenter is not a problem? There is already about an inch. I guess if I pour on that I'd get two inches of trub.

Word is getting out on my spent grains

I'm not much of a hunter. But isn't baiting them sort of against the principal of the thing. Or at the very least illegal?

New wort right on top of old trub?

Let me know if this is a bad idea. Lets say I brew a new batch and rack and old batch into the secondary the same day. So I have a pot of cooled wort and a fermentor empty except for the trub/yeast of the old batch. Can I just pour the new wort on the old trub and call it a day? Or do...

    Uncarbonated beer

Everyone has blamed the temp. I don't disagree. But don't overlook you caps. If the bottles aren't sealing correctly (bad capper or bad caps or even bad bottles) you could get flat beer. I read somewhere once that a simple way to check is to use a balloon. Just put it over the cap. If...

    Crap

I wrote bottle just to simplify my post. In reality its a bit more complicated. If anyone here is drinks in Japan you'd know what I'm talking about. I have bunch of 1.5 liter cans. Also I have a mini draft system that screws on the top of these cans. The CO2 charge is a small cylinder like...

    Crap

No, I mean that literally. I had a clump of yeast on the bottom of my beer mug. I was avoiding it all night, just topping off my glass, not drinking to the very bottom. But just now I finished off the last bottle and I went to wash my glass and rinse out my bottles but hey wait. Where did...
