CO2 Tank in Fridge or Out?

I doesn't matter if it's in or out. CO2 is sold by weight not volume and the gauge, as you saw, is not accurate especially at different temps. If you really want to be sure you should weigh the tank empty then full. That being said, I wait 'till the gauge looks dangerously low and get a refill.

    Big Beer, yeast question

If that is a 5 gallon batch I think you should be ok with the pitching rate, but that yeast only has a ABV tolerance of 9% Also at 70 degrees room temp. the actual fermenting temp. will be MUCH higher. I would put it in the 60 degree room for the first week or two, then move it to the 70 degree...

Natural Gas Burners for my build..

Natural gas is regulated coming into your home, so you just need to figure out how much to drill out the orifice. Make sure your manifold is at LEAST 1/2" Propane is high pressure and needs to be regulated from the tank. If you look am my profile I have a Pic. of my stand and how I ran lines.

    my beer sucks

One sure way to throw your beer off is to add salts like gypsum without knowing whats in your water to begin with. Gypsum will add sulfate to your beer which can give it a sharp dry edge, which may be desirable in an IPA at certain levels. Check out This Thread to get you on the road to...

Ranco Digital Two-Stage Temperature Controller question

Don't put it in water, the probe is not waterproof. Tape it to the side of the fermenter about half way down, then tape a piece of insulation over that so it doesn't read ambient temps. Insulation can be anything, like a folded up paper towel, an old sock, etc...

Ranco Digital Two-Stage Temperature Controller question

Yeah, I use one And my ferment chamber is outside in the shed all year long. Just make sure it's not too overpowered. I put a piece of sheet metal between the heater and the fermenters so it doesn't blow directly on them. Here's a small one...

Ranco Digital Two-Stage Temperature Controller question

By looking at 'em, I don't think they'll draw too much, even if they're both on. Do you have room for a porcelain heater in there?
