    Indian food?

Whatever you end up ordering, order some Raita with it. It's a very cooling Yoghurt condiment that is an absolute must spicy dishes. Here's a good beginner menu: Tandoori anything Chicken Tikka Masala Mattar Paneer - Peas and cheese (trust me) Gobi-Aloo (Cauliflower, potatoes) Vegetable...

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

Ok Dude, I posted the Mistake on the Lake IPA: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f66/mistake-lake-ipa-111998/#post1235364

    Mistake On The Lake IPA

Hello everybody: This is an IPA version of Dude's Lakewalk APA, an HBT classic. I originally called this 2 Mistakes IPA, because that's how I got the recipe. First, I overshot my OG into the kettle, so I beefed up my hops additions into IPA territory, then I put double the dry hops in the...

Amarillo Pale Ale ~ Help Needed

+1 on the Lakewalk; highly recommended and competition proven - Your recipe looks good though. I would add Amarillo/Simcoe at 5 minutes, cancel the flame out addition and dry hop with Amarillo and Simcoe. Not a big fan of the Munich either in there, but that's subjective. I use to use...

    I'm Thinking... 09/09/09 Barleywine

I guess I'll give an update on mine too. I dry hopped with Chinook and Cascade, but couldn't take them out when I wanted. The beer is a bit grassy at this point, but pretty drinkable. I also added American oak spirals to the beer which is giving a slight vanilla character to the beer. It...

    Spark Ignition for Brutus

I hear ya Lars. The blowouts I have covered, but I need to be careful pitching in this mess. I guess I'll see you at Mayfaire if not before. KD

    Spark Ignition for Brutus

I just want to say that it's a super-windy day here in the Southland. I am brewing Dude's Lakewalk and have enjoyed several blowouts and relights! This is what makes the spark ignition all worthwhile. :)

    Any pipe smokers here?

Just resurrected my pipe collection recently, so I guess I'll dig up this thread. I am really enjoying my pipes again after a few years off. I have a pretty serous rotation with some rare danish pieces from Chonowitsch and S. Bang. Right now I'm smoking some Marlin Flake and enjoying it very...

    Weihenstephaner Original - Recipe?

I was looking for a slightly smoother bitterness and a touch more flavor. This was corresponding with some scoresheets I got on this beer. Trying to brew to style, for sure. I might give a try to some or all FWH this batch, adjusting IBU to 20 minute utilization for hte FWH.

    Weihenstephaner Original - Recipe?

Going to brew this with FWH this weekend instead of 60 minute. Any experiences?

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I thought I was done with this thread when I stuck a keg of Apfelwin in storage thinking it wasn't for me. That was back in late September. Well, the cellar time took every objectionable characteristic out of this stuff, and I am now a believer! I just pulled a glass and it's VERY good...

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

Ok, one more post to this thread today; sorry. I recently brewed this beer and overshot my OG in the kettle by a mile. I made some on-the-fly adjustments to take this clearly into IPA territory. It ended up at 1.067 and 60 IBU. I double dry-hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe and have a...

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

Yeah, it was very good, but I messed up the IBU in the beer somehow. It was very mildly bittered for the style, but quite good.

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

The cask ale yeast (1026 I think) was released in the fall VSS program. It's a very nice yeast and drops out for a dead clear beer very quickly. Yes, it would be nice for this recipe I think. I used it for a hop-bursted IPA and found it delicious.

American Pale Ale Lake Walk Pale Ale

I have brewed this with 1272. The main difference I noticed is the bready quality that comes form this yeast. If fermented cool, the frutiness is minimal. I find it to be a very nice yeast, which is the Anchor Liberty Ale strain. The version I brewed with 1272 and Maris Otter got 45 and 46...

    Spark Ignition for Brutus

Good question. There are two ways to use a spark ignition system. One is to light the main burner directly, the other is to light a pilot first. Mine uses a Honeywell dual valve which lights a pilot first, then will open the main valve once there is proof of flame. There is a system on this...
