    Brew Apps for Android

I have homebrewtalk for android as well, didn't mention it because I would never replace it.

    Brew Apps for Android

Having trouble deciding, the ratings and such are all over the place and ridiculous. So, any advice on what might be worth paying for? Hopefully one that has about everything I already have and a little more. Right now, I have these free apps: BJCPDroid: The complete BJCP style database...

    Excited for winter pond hockey

We were almost ready... it had been icy cold for weeks, and the snow was easing up. Then today it warmed up into the high 30s and rained. By the new year we should be able to play though.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

I've never drank M or C but I used to drink B while shooting pool in dive bars; before I was supposed to be drinking, my friends and I would take cases of Session Lager to Garage Punk shows; when i was in college my classmates and I would drink Corona all night in the painting studio while...

    NHL Tribute beers

There's a thread in the Extract forum about a really RED beer for a New Jersey Devils fan. Made me wonder, what would the perfect tribute beer be for our favorite Hockey teams? I'm going to think about it for a little, but what do you guys think? Fermenting: Razor Wit Bottling: Matanuska...

    Redest Irish Red?

To bad there's no way to brew it so that it automatically drops Ranger fans to their knees. Anyway, a red hots cinnamon lager sounds perfect as a Devils tribute beer. Fermenting: Razor Wit Bottling: Matanuska Wildberry Drinking: As American As... Ale

    Fermenting in carboy and sunlight?

I cover my carboys with the hoodies my wife wants me to get rid of. Maybe that's why she covers HER carboys (wine) with my favorite t-shirts. Fermenting: Razor Wit Bottling: Matanuska Wildberry Drinking: As American As... Ale

Did I just waste my money on BMC swill!

When I turned 21 a bunch of my friends took me to the Coors brewery for the tour. I don't drink Coors, I hate Coors, I couldn't even pretend to like Killians. Blue moon was my first Wheat beer... and it converted me to the wonders of liquid gold. Now days I would rather go back to the 9.99 12...

Where can you get a glass of beer for 1 USD?

Denver Colorado, the Hilltop Tavern near St. Regis University. $1.00 PBR on tap during the summer semester, $1.50 the other two ($2.00 during spring break if the weather is bad enough to keep the students in the dorms) If anyone actually goes there, the pool tables suck, the back deck is never...

    Removing labels from beer bottles.

Deschutes Brewery... their labels come off easy and clean after ten minutes in plain hot water. Sam Adams... never, ever, many SA bottles in my inventory still have bits stuck to them. Any more... I just buy swing top bottles from the brewstore, I like them better anyway.

Dropped a pen into my Primary!

Breath, don't freak out, monitor the brew for signs of infections, give it a taste when you check the gravity. When it's brewed up, bottled, and ready to taste; taste it. If there are any problems during brewing, or off flavors, you'll at least know why. Infections suck, they really suck, but...

Looking for All Extract Porter Recipe

I'm thinking about brewing this myself, but I was wondering if there is a possibility of using split vanilla beans instead of extract. Because of the seeds I'll have to put them in a bag, which I'll boil for 15 minutes beforehand. The beans will be purchased from a brewstore, and remain sealed...

    Why Electric? Confused

It's been posted before, but for me it's two parts weather and one part wildlife. For seven to eight months of the year I just can not brew in an open air environment, it's way to cold, and ventilation is not an option in my current home. The other four of five months, I have to worry about the...

    Black Rock Kit Questions

Another question I almost forget. Priming sugar, in the instructions it gives a per bottle amount, I prefer adding a set amount of priming sugar to the whole batch, can I just do the regular 3/4 cp or corn sugar or is there a difference in cider I should know about?

    Brewing with hay??

*giggle* dry "hop" *giggle* As for odd ingredients in beer Papazian's The Complete Joy of Homebrewing 3 page 96: "Cock Ale"... a parboiled rooster that's been crushed, a half gallon of white wine, 3 lbs of raisins, and mace; that's quite a recipe.

    Black Rock Kit Questions

My wife's sisters don't like beer, but they do like cider, so when I saw that my local brew-store had gotten a cider kit in (Black Rock) I decided I'd give it a try. So I very carefully read all the instructions, they're not much help, so... any recommendations, or answers to some questions...
