    Beer Smith Users...

Beersmith is awesome software. Like others have said, it's much better once you dial it in for your setup. My volumes on my last batch were dead on, including boil off, etc. Just takes a few batches to get your baseline efficiency, boil off, etc. My efficiency jumps around some because I don't...

    What are you drinking now?

An Irish Dry Stout kit I got from NB. Been 2 weeks in bottles, still a little flat, but pipeline was empty so I'm good with it. I'm back in business. :rockin:

You can do that for a good, general mash setup, or you can hit that checkmark and change one to what temps you want, etc.

    Beersmith 2

Just like Flomaster said. Once you get there, click on the check mark next to the selected profile and you can adjust the details. It took me forever to figure that out.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Bottling an all grain Northern Brewer Irish Dry Stout kit. Racking a pumpkin ale.

    Itching to get into AG

Another thing to consider is the size of your brew kettle. I was under a little pressure from the wife (I went all grain pretty quick) about the "stuff" that kept appearing on the porch in boxes, so I went 8 gallon aluminum. SS/aluminum is another thread, but I would suggest a 9 or 10 gallon...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Moving a dry Irish stout to secondary, giving a pumpkin ale a shot this weekend. Hopefully the recipe is solid, it seems kinda light on the pumpkin compared to some I've seen. I'm ok with that, I'd rather err on the side of beer taste rather than pumpkin pie.

    Worst Beer

Lots of contenders, but I have to go with Miller Genuine Draft in the can. Absolutely horrible. The bottles are drinkable, but the cans have this taste of aluminum/beer?/skunk piss. Nasty. Second place is the real OB you get in Korea (OB sold here is brewed by AB). Whether it really has...

    Hello from South Carolina!

I decided to finally join the forum after I realized when I Googled a question it usually sent me here for a good answer. I've only been brewing since Feb, but I've advanced fairly quick since then. My wife surprised me with a gift on Valentine's Day, it was a Mr. Beer kit. After I looked at it...
