    fermentation temp

Same here, I boil outside in my happy place (deck). I'd question what I was being "allowed" to do if my wife said I couldn't keep a fermenter in the corner of a room she never goes in. :)

    What first beer?

I would also suggest something more straightforward like a brown or pale ale. Concentrate on cleanliness and sanitation first, make it habit and you'll be rewarded for it.

    Hi from Kansas

My parents are still there, so I visit every summer. Discovered the Blind Tiger last year. Had some good brew there.

    2011 Hops

Any idea on when the Pliny, American, English or Kaiser hop packs will be back in stock? :off: I just finished my kegerator with the Perlicks and shafts I bought from you guys. I am extremely pleased with the fast shipment and the condition of everything! You have a new customer here. Thanks!

BrewMasters Warehouse (now, rising from the ashes!)

I'd recommend them, excellent customer service when I've had to call about something. The only thing I wish would change is the website to reflect out of stock items, expected in stock date, something to that effect. I'd much rather make a substitute if possible than wait for an email later that...

Did you start with a Mr.Beer kit?

I started with Mr. Beer as well. It is a nice way to discover you can make decent beer and it's not rocket science. In the end, their pricepoint is way off to serve a pipeline. Their kits cost more to make 2 gallons than I spend on 5 gallons of all-grain now and my beer is a heck of a lot...

I'm a little nervous... Just placed an order with KegConnection

I agree with the good investment. You also got the good stuff which will move quick if you ever change your mind. i.e. Perlicks, Taprite, etc.

Brewing Safety... bumped carboy leads to surgery

I just got mine and it is like night and day carrying that thing around. I was always worried about the throat or the carboy snapping off trying to use the carboy handles they make. I plan on leaving the brew hauler on when cleaning also, when it gets really slippery.

    Irish Red Grain Bill

I'm also putting one together, tossing around Marris Otter or Golden Promise for the base. In "Brewing Classic Styles," Jamil uses equal amounts of 120l crystal, 40l crystal, and roasted barley. In Beersmith, that combo is showing a nice red tint to it.

    Well, that was interesting...

You might be a homebrewer if... You lower the temperature in your house so the yeast are happy. :mug:
