Long draw glycol cooled dispensing build

I am very interested in doing this as well, but have been concerned about the quality of beer at the taps in a home environment. Does carbonation hold up when you are pouring one or two a day? Favor stability? WOuld love to hear some feedback from those with similar systems.

    convoluted vs straight heat exchanger

To actually answer your question, 25' straight.

    convoluted vs straight heat exchanger

Ha. Found it, although it is no longer tied to me. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/Do-I-have-turbulent-flow-in-my-chiller.html

    convoluted vs straight heat exchanger

Convoluted copper will not produce better heat exchange to any significant degree. I used to have an article around here on the old format laying out the math and fluid analysis. Basically, regular tubing will produce a fully developed turbulent flow even with perfectly smooth tubing. The...

Help with direct fired automation 1.5 bbl system

What gas valves do you have? If you want to use piloted valves, they should have a specific pilot light gas path so that the pilot stays lit. Or you can main line the pilot and put in a dedicated gas shutoff valve (maybe a needle valve). Pilots are nice but not if you brew outside, where wind...

    Checking in from Oconomowoc Wisconsin

Ahoy! It has been forever since I have been active around here, but after almost a year off of brewing (my longest stoppage in over a decade of brewing) I am ready to get back on the horse. I brewed up a simple cream ale (Spotted Cow clone) with a friend for his wedding last weekend, got my...

    Wisconsin 2P-Twent-E 5g electric brewery SE Wisconsin - $2,500

I'm not really interested in getting into parting it out. I'm still going to brew, I just don't get to it often enough to justify this super nice system anymore. If I can't sell the whole thing as a package, I'll just hang on to it.

    Lacto Souring Temps

Temp discussion is in line with my practice (120º). My addition is that I mash in a keg. That way, you can purge the head space with CO2 and avoid the negative affects of an oxygen rich environment. Dearation, and controlled temps make sour mashes super easy and controllable.

Kettle Sour/Sour Mash - How Much Uncrushed Grain?

I think it has a lot more to do with the propagating conditions than the initial pitch. I use a big handful of malt in my 5g mashes and get awesome results. My process is to mash in a keg, cool to 120º, pitch in a handful of grain, purge with CO2 to remove as much O2 as is realistic, then set...

Oktoberfestbier (lager) from Brouwerij Boerderij Kabouter

Ha. I check in about as often as Edwort... if he's still around??? This beer is still good though. I changed some things up last year and it was a mistake. It's probably still my best recipe.

I am a Homebrewer [video] Release

Ha! Can't believe this is still alive. My favorite thing about this video is still all the spoofs that spun off. I still have sex with my beer.
