Trader Joe's Vintage Ale - label removal

Buy some Hennepin :D I haven't found anything to adequately remove that printed stuff.

To those that have incorporated Urinals...

The BL handle is pure genius.

Honestly, how often do you take apart all those fittings for cleaning?

I absolutely do not disassemble my rig every brewday. What is the need? Keep everything clean, circulate some hot PBW, and call it good. I would say about once a year a do a tear down to make sure everything is in good shape.

HERMS coil HEX in Boil Kettle

I have used three different hard mounted coils on various systems I have built. They work great and cleaning is indeed easy. After boiling and cooling, everything is obviously still wet, so a blast down from the hose gets almost everything off the coil. I have always filled the system with...

    Attention Wisconsin Brewers!!!!

Don't you already have your own thread for being a dick about this subject? Please leave your diatribe in other places. This was a great thread for the sharing of facts, let's leave it at that.

    Attention Wisconsin Brewers!!!!

Literally no substantive changes. They just added duplicate information to more sections to supposedly add clarity. As stated above, I think their amendments makes the law more duplicative (and therefore longer to read) while adding nothing substantive.

    Attention Wisconsin Brewers!!!!

Whoo hooo!!!!! That is great news that I am very surprised by. I am happy the Senate took the time to vote on it. I think I'll have a beer to celebrate.

    Attention Wisconsin Brewers!!!!

In my opinion, the assembly's amendments do not significantly change the law and do little to clarify the law. I think they made a mistake by adding the amendments and should have simply passed the bill to the gov. Boo and hiss.

2P-Twent-E: the new Brouwerij Boerderij Kabouter

I do have full parts lists for all my builds. send me an email to jstalbot at gmail dot com if you are interested. iijakii is correct. The religious card is a label for the beer being brewed. I brewed 12 beers over one weekend and it was imperative to keep the logistics straight. The labels...

    Calculating efficiency

The top section is where you enter the specifics of each malt in your grain bill. You enter the weight of the grist, its potential, and its water content. Those variables are then used to calculate the potential sugars, and thereby the efficiencies of your various processes.

    Calculating efficiency

Kaiser has put together what I consider to be the best reference for efficiency. You can find some of it here. Read around his site for more info... http://braukaiser.com/wiki/index.php?title=Understanding_Efficiency I use this spread sheet for all my brews to track how well I am controlling...

Why do you think Mead isn't more popular, compared to wine?

Mead has a lot of problems commercially. First, vintage meads and straight honey meads are very strange/funky/austere and it is neither a flavor that the general public can commit to or a particularly attractive flavor to wine drinkers. About the only category of people who really like mead...

Munton's CarbTabs Are Horrible - DO NOT EVER BUY THEM! (a fellow home brewer's rant)

I have used carb tabs of various producers for many, many batches. The product works as advertised. Your problem and other problems is not due to a fault of the product. I suppose you could have purchased a faulty batch or something, but more than likely it was operator error. Sorry dude...

    The Twelve Hopostles

The Twelve are almost to final gravity. I took a sample of Peter today and it is down to 1016.75 SG. Flavor is exactly as hoped for. I think noble hop IPAs have a future.

Does anyone have this Altec Lansing PC sound system???

I am pretty sure I know what blew it up... There was a massive mouse nest in it when I opened it up.

What would you drink if you were going to Germany??

Drink what is regional. If you are in Dusseldorf and order a Kolsch you are liable to get tossed out on your ass or at minimum made fun of by the staff and locals. Beer is good everywhere in Germany. It really isn't exaggerated. Get the local beer style by a local brewery and enjoy the crap...

Does anyone have this Altec Lansing PC sound system???

All the caps on the board are 50v, and the one that blew is in a group of two caps. The other, that didn't blow is a 10µf. Maybe just grab a 10 and see???

Does anyone have this Altec Lansing PC sound system???

So too large a capacitor would not damage other components?
