Looking to turn a glass carboy into a "conical" fermentor. I need some feedback.

This was sold as a product in the late 90's. I bought one and used it once.....it didn't work. Yeast hung up on the shoulders, no benefits, all downsides. I still have the cap somewhere that was held in place with a zip-tie.

    CO2 Bottle Refill Costs?!

My local soda manufacture (starting to become a LHBS too) is $20 for a 20 lb tank refill. Last time they told me after June I will need a re-cert for $20. When I went to AirGas (I didn't know about my local soda manufacture then) I paid $80 for a tank exchange (re-cert needed). Shop around people.

    NEIPA Recipe Help

I would eliminate the 60 minute hops - bring the IBUs down to 20-30 range. The biggest improvement in NEIPAs for me was eliminating all O2 after pitching - Any dry hops are purged with CO2 and all transfers are done closed.

New here... Have a a couple of questions

Give it a little time before jumping into kegging. At a minimum you would need a keg, CO2 tank and a few parts. Generally additional cost is about $200 to get started in kegging, but you might keep a look on CraigsList or the for sale section of HomeBrewTalk for someone leaving the hobby. After...

New here... Have a a couple of questions

14 days is the earliest that I would bottle, I normally am closer to 21 days for most (and I keg, so no risk of bottle bombs) especially with higher gravity beers.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I beg to differ on this. I tried several methods of remote dropping hops held in my fermenter in order to dry hop without oxygen exposure, I had issues with the hops dropping due to the expansion of the hops due to the humidity in the fermentation vessel. They expanded and lost all scent in the...

    Adding Hemp to Beer?

How did this go? I was placing an order with Label Peelers and saw some legal options. https://labelpeelers.com/search.php?search_query=hemp I'm thinking of dry hop, but not sure if I should put some at the end of whirlpool or hold all for the dry hop. Any suggestions?
