    Hydrometer

    I've just made a mead, and i noticed that i got two different readings. If i placed the hydrometer in gently it sunk to 1.050 ish. If i holded it up for a second it stayed around 1.020. If i pushed it down it didn't raise above 1.100 What is the correct way to do this? bear in...

    following Joes acient mead reciep i've added some pear to it also :) Tiny bit more cloves and spice And some orange juice. (Because it tasted to much like lem-sip cough medicine!) Will see what it comes out like :)

    this is based on one gallon. can i add i'd say after tasting you can smell the maple, yet taste is little, my sister said it is drink able, i think you should add around 200g of sugar aswell per 1 gallon to boast the ABV then back sweeten it with the same or half the amount of maple afterwards...

    I brought a pot erm, it filled about half a pint what i topped up with hot water to make sure it melted okay. For a guess their was about 275ml in the pot? Didn't actually read it.

    Turbo Cider in the Isle of Man

    Ive made something like this in the past and worked fine with bread yeast. Just had a wine taste tbh. Got something simlar n way now with a cinnimon stick in it, and maple syrup :)
