    Low bucks motorized grain mill

Hey Spellman, when you say wire "1 black up to the green, with a switch between", do you mean you soldered all the black together with a lead to the motor, except for 1 black wire which you connected to 1 side of the switch, with the green connected to the other side? Is this because with the...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

I'm using L050 couplings from Grainger. 10mm for the Cereal Killer and 12mm for the motor. 11mm was too big for the mill for me. The 10mm slides on smooth but has no wobble whatsoever. Same for the 12mm on the motor shaft. Slides on smooth with no wobble. I also got an L050 spider from...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

FYI, anyone using the car seat motor, you can buy the correct electrical adapter on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RW3BZWA/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 It's $14.78 right now. Not as cheap as a couple of spade bits, but its got nice long leads, and a locking clasp, and you don't have to...

I'm checking metric sizes on Monday. Hopefully those will fit without any adjustments.

Louisiana Metairie Corny Kegs have maybe 12 including two 3 gallon shorties

Any chance I could get a quote for the two 3gal kegs shipped to Kentucky 40245?

    240v eKeggle BIAB

This is pretty much what I think I want/need. I'm starting to lean towards getting a 5-6 gallon flat bottom kettle, set it up with a basic 120v element and controller, and mostly do 2.5gal eBIAB batches. If I want to do 5gal batches, I can go back out to my BIAB keggle on propane in the...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

The reason this spider was so expensive is because they sent me the wrong one. The Lovejoy couplers are size L050. The spider they sent was L099. It was at least double the size it should have been. I'm returning the spider and at least one of the couplers. I've got a couple more on order...

    240v eKeggle BIAB

Nice pictures. This is seriously where I'd like to end up. Super simple controller, single vessel BIAB. Main difference is I want to mainly drop down to doing 2.5gal batches with the occasional 5gal batch thrown in for special occasions/special beers.

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

 Well. The Lovejoy couplings and spider showed up today. Neither of the couplings are the right size, and Amazon sent the wrong spider size. :drunk: I'm going to stop by Grainger tomorrow to see if they have the right sizes in stock. Hopefully I can get all 3 pieces tomorrow. If...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

I'm planning a dedicated stand, so that I have everything collected together in one place. Right now I weigh in one spot, collect weighed grain in another, Mill somewhere else, and store my mill, bucket, and drill in 3 separate spots. With a cart, it's all contained together and I never have to...

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

And I just found this on Amazon. If my ATX power supply doesn't work, I'm going to buy this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D7CWSCG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Low bucks motorized grain mill

Just ordered the worm drive, Lovejoy couplers, switch, and spider fitting (how is the spider fitting 4x the cost of the couplers?!). I've got a 12V 300W (19A) ATX power supply I'm not using, so I'm going to wire it up once the motor arrives and see if it works. I've got a cereal killer grain...

Considering going electric - advise with main panel

I guess I need to get an electrician out here and trace where these go to.

Considering going electric - advise with main panel

No subpanel nearby (that I've found). The only sub-panel I do know of is the one on the side of the furnace. It does have a 30 and a 15 amp breaker in it, but that could be covered by the 50 amp in the main panel. There is a powered attic fan, but surely that wouldn't need more than a 15 or 20...

Considering going electric - advise with main panel

I have done quite a bit of electrical work over the years, although I have never added a breaker to a panel. I've gone through some tutorials online and feel like I could probably do it myself. But, what I may do is buy everything I need, run the wire myself, and then have an electrician come...

    Stupid Simple Stir Plate. ~$12

 I have an Amazon distribution center within 40 minutes of my house. With Prime, most things distributed by Amazon show up next day (free). And the Sunday delivery via mail carriers is straight dope. :rockin: I figure I've saved my Prime membership fee 3 fold over the span of a year.

Considering going electric - advise with main panel

Hey everyone, I have been researching this for a while, and am wanting to try to go electric. I currently do 5.5 gallon batches, BIAB on propane. I will most likely stay with BIAB, and will keep my keggle for 5.5gallon batches, but I'm also considering creating a 2-3 gal setup for smaller...

Pull up a Beer, help me decide?

I currently do single vessel BIAB on propane. I am in the planning stages of converting to electric, but I am going to stay with BIAB and will recirculate. I think that it gives me plenty of control over my process, while maintaining a small footprint, minimizing cost, and keeping a simple...

Pull up a Beer, help me decide?

If you're going to build an eBIAB system, its not that hard to add a pump and recirculate (most that I've seen incorporate pumps for this reason). This would eliminate most any concerns about stratification.

The new eHERMS brewery is fully operational!!

I made a milk stout with 8oz cocao nibs and 2 vanilla beans soaked in vodka for 2 weeks before adding to secondary. I can't remember if it spent 2 weeks or 4 weeks in secondary. The end result was hugely chocolate right out of the gate, but settled down to a really good tasting beer after about...
