    Dogfish head 90-min.IPA clone ???

nope... there's still plent of healthy, living yeast in the beer. Prime with sugar, bottle, wait three weeks and enjoy. I hope it turns out well. I didn't make a clone, but I just bottled an IIPA yesterday and the sample tasted fantastic.

    Dragon's Milk recipe?

Good luck... I've looked hither and yon, and even read on another message board of a guy contacting New Holland and not getting any help at all. Let us know if you find anything :D

    It's 4:00 PM Friday- it's time!

Hanging out with our four kids... and while I'll feel like having a few by the end of the evening, I'll be too tired to lift a glass. :)

    Dragon's Milk recipe?

Actually... rdwj and I have exchanged several PMs about the recipe, bouncing ideas off each other here and there. Shimms and I are hoping to finalize our recipe this weekend. She picked up the oak cubes today, and we'll begin soaking them this weekend. And I got REALLY lucky ... was...

I'm hoping to brew that one in the coming month or so :D

    What are you brewing 3/30-4/1?

Busy weekend for us. Bottling the IIPA. Bottling the Irish Red. Brewing a Bell's Best Brown clone from the BYO clone recipe issue. The Bells brew (another AG) is to serve two purposes. We're planning a clone (hopefully) of New Holland's Dragon's Milk Ale, which will be a high gravity brew...

Will This Work for a Mash Tun?

It should... but no one will know for sure without seeing more pics of it, like the drain hole plug or the interior of the cooler. At first blush, I'd say it would.

What's your S/HHMBO's opinion on Beer

Trace is a beer snob and my brewing partner :) I ALMOST voted for I need permission to use her equipment, since it was her birthday present, but that wouldn't be true. :)

    Bottling with unfermented wort.

That's kind of what I figured too. the mason jars were sterilized prior to collecting the wort, and have been untouched the entire time. We usually use corn sugar, but thought we'd give this a try. I just hope we get good head from it. ;)

    Bottling with unfermented wort.

Our first AG brew is ready to be bottled, and the recipe we based it on called for bottling with unfermented wort. So we set aside enough when we brewed it, and it's been sitting in the fridge since brewing day. The question is, how do we do it? Swirl the jars the wort is in, bring to a...

Cool.. thanks brad! I'll sign up for an account and pitch in when I'm able. It's a great resource :D

The WIKI has really become quite impressive...

I'm one of those writerly types... so I'd be happy to help with some editing/proof reading when I have the time. How would I go about doing that?

Round Vs. Square Cooler for Mash Tun

    Which Should I Drink First?

We swung by the Sam's in Highland Park the other day and they have a few Hobgoblins kicking around. But they didn't have New Hollands' Dragon's Milk, which we need, honestly, because we're trying to formulate a clone for it

    AG or bust.

That's not a bad way of looking at it. But I also like the thought of rigging up a cooler for a mash tun as cheaply as possible. Save the money on a larger brewpot for now, because you can split them up as you've planned. But the money spent on a cooler mash tun would be well spent, and...

The Great 2007 HBT Belly Off Competition

Shimms and I went on a five mile bike ride yesterday. Riding is my thing. The quicker the pace, the better. My standard weight loss plan is lots of exercise, lots of water, and fewer calories. Another day or so and I'll be back in the groove.

    Why Can't I RDWHAHB

Honestly, not really. Even with our first venture into AG last week, that yielded wort, but with not very good efficiency, the stress level was low. I'm not sure we'll ever get stressed about brewing. Sure, we want to make good beer, but we realize we're still pretty new to it, and learning...
