    Last week of fermentation chilled

So it sounds like its too late to change anything now. I couldn't pull it from the fridge and wake it up again to carbonate right? Besides I gotta deliver on Christmas. Bottled as gifts. I better do a little Quality Assurance after breakfast. :tank:

    Last week of fermentation chilled

Ive got a few buddies who are home brewers and afficianados of craft brews. These guys are pretty honest with me so I'm being picky.

    Last week of fermentation chilled

Because I had it stored in the low to mid sixties for the 3 weeks prior to the fridge. It's good and I've had commercially available craft brews which open and pour worse, so I'll take it as a win. :ban: Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

    Last week of fermentation chilled

Does it help or aid carbonation? I just finished a brewers best Imperial Pale Ale all bottled and sat for a few weeks in cool temps. Then per the instructions, I'm to refrigerate for a week before serving. Well I was anxious and after a day on ice I had to try one. Tasted great, great ABV...

Looking for a High ABV IPA extract kit

Hi Bill, My OG was low, not high. So so you still think I'll have a fermentation problem? the Yeast was just the packet that came with the Brewers Best Kit. no brainer, one sachet. I'm planning on doing a few checks to make sure fermentation is complete. or they readings are the same for...

Looking for a High ABV IPA extract kit

and followed the instructions exactly also. Except my kit was shy one ounce of hops. the recipe called for 4 oz and I only had 3. My vessel may be inaccurately marked at the 5 gallon level and I may be adding too much water. Or the Hydrometer could be off. My last batch which was my first...

Looking for a High ABV IPA extract kit

Excellent! Thanks for the reply. So it was not clear in this recipe but it sounds like the first hops are for Bittering, the 2nd hops are for Flavoring and the last are for Aroma. They should have noted that somewhere in the instructions. Thanks again.

Looking for a High ABV IPA extract kit

My second batch is an Imperial Pale Ale from Brewer's Best. I brewed on Saturday night into sunday AM and it is looking great and sitting at the right temperature. Again though my OG was low for this extract kit. my hydrometer showed 1.06 at 75'F. instead of the target 1.081- 1.085. Could...

Looking for a High ABV IPA extract kit

Any suggestions. My first batch came out pretty good. :ban: Got rave reviews from other homebrewers. But it was light on the Alcohol content. I think it was my yeast that was lame or stale. I'd like a double IPA kit because this is one of my favorite beers right now. I might as well...

Confused on when to bottle. My 1st batch

All is looking pretty good. I had a couple myself and I really like them. and I believe I can notice some alcohol also. A friend and a couple of family members have also given it thumbs up. I'll bring it to my two experts, one who's a very experienced home brewer and get their input this...

Confused on when to bottle. My 1st batch

Just what i was afraid of. No or very little alcohol content in my beer. It's beautiful though. the bottle opens with a nice, kssh. Pours nice with a great head some lace on the glass when swirled. Smells great, good mouth feel and taste is relatively hoppy but not too heavy. Only...

Need a copy of instructions maestro IPA form True Brew

Well, it's a place to start. Tomorrow i hope to take a final gravity reading and get it into bottles and we'll see what happens. Thanks for the input. Now I have the gear I'll probably take another stab at brewing but not during the Summer. Too hot without AC to control the temps. And...

Need a copy of instructions maestro IPA form True Brew

Thanks theveganbrewer, appreciate the reply. What went wrong? this is my first batch too and maybe my last. I've received a lot of advice here to leave the wort in the first fermentation vessel for up to a month, which I've done and now i have to bottle in the next day or so. Can you point...
