    Bottling question

Not too tight. Got it. Do you guys and gals think it would be in my best interest to rack into spigot bucket in a couple weeks and then let it settle in that one for a week before bottling? Or just rack onto the corn sugar mixture and bottle the same day?

    Bottling question

I will also check the placement of the washers. Thanks for the tips. Every one on here is so helpful, its amazing. It makes us new people not feel intimidated and actually makes us or at least me feel welcome, and that no question is a stupid questions. Cheers everyone.

    Bottling question

So pretty much the way I have started is the way I should go? Primary with bucket without spigot, rack to secondary with spigot when ready to bottle. It does seem like bottling would be a ton easier if I rack to the bucket (using a syphon) with the spigot. I will try and tighten the spigot by...

    Brew Day!

So I started my first ever brew today. Everything went pretty well. Had a little bit of movement during the cooling of the wort. We also had some minor scorching in our brewpot. Is that really bad? Is there anything we can do to clean it off the pan? Thanks for any info.

    First timer

Got the kit and a brewpot. We are starting with an american pale ale. A serria nevada type if you will. it all came prepacked from our local brew store. We were told this one was pretty straightforward. A good first timer beer. I guess my only question is how long to aerate the wort and do...

Thanks for the response. I am really looking forward to getting started. I plan on starting slow for a couple batches to get my feet wet and then hopefully will get into all grain brewing. Cheers

    First timer

Tomorrow a friend and I are entering the world of homebrewing. We are both pretty excited and slightly nervous. I have been doing a lot of reading and some of the stuff is pretty over my head. So a quick question. If we are using a dry malt extract, that takes the place of the wort correct...
