    I will be buying the stir plate this weekend. I will be brewing next weekend, a stout or porter, not sure yet. Will be doing 10 gallons again. Should I make 2 starters like I did last time (with a lower OG and a stir plate) or buy 2 yeast vials and propagate each starter one time?

    False bottom for cooler

    Does this polypropylene mesh with hole sizes 3/32" (0.094") seem too small? It looks small but there should be plenty of holes to prevent a stuck sparge. I plan on supporting it over the bottom of the cooler with copper tubing and sealing any gaps on the side with food-grade silicone sealant.
