Hot and Cold water in the Garage for Brewing

All done now. I still have to decide on a table/bench for that wall. The Pex hardware required that I remove 1.5" out of the main line to accommodate the width of the "T" fitting. Its important that there are no burrs inside or out. Also, I wish I had arranged the vent to be behind the sink...

Hot and Cold water in the Garage for Brewing

It's not heated but it is attached on a long wall and both the walls and the car door are insulated. It rarely freezes and with the Pex lines being elastic and nearly crack proof I'm not worried.

Hot and Cold water in the Garage for Brewing

I'll upload some tonight. Sewer line is all done (with studor vent to help the flow). Pex line is run, just need to tie in to the main lines in the house. Then I'll add a folding counter top along that wall.

Pex all the way! So simple and easy to use. Fittings are $$ but worth it.

Hot and Cold water in the Garage for Brewing

I am just finishing adding a utility sink & drain in my attached garage. It will make brewing & clean up a snap! All grain, all year long, no more small batches on the kitchen stove during the winter! Bottle washing without taking up the whole place. This will be nice. :ban:

    Today I learned

Ha, no but I guess that it is a little off the norm. My co-worker used to have a printing company and he brought it to me when he heard me talking about brewing and sanitizing. You can buy, no restrictions that I am aware of. Paper Plus in Southfield MI is were he bought his supplies.

    Today I learned

Today I learned that 99% Isopropyl alcohol will attack the polymers in acrylic. I melted my auto siphon when I went to sanitize it! Lucky I had the SS racking cane to use. Just thought I would share. EDIT: I have also learned that it is useless as a sanitizer. You need 30% water to carry the...

Does head space have any effect on the potential for bottle bombs?

    Recipe Formulation & Ingredients Descriptions

Reelale, Thanks for the info, I googled Lovibond and immediately ran in to what appear to be conflicting statements: http://www.defalcos.com/worldofgrain.htm say’s “On most grains below, we will refer to º (degrees) lovibond. This is simply a measure of the color of the various...

Ok, real noob question, but I keep seeing grain references like yours to "2L" and "4L". To what do these values refer? Thanks,

    Bored Saturday=Shiny Corny

All I can say is it was hard to watch, its in the hands of a WELDER now and I should have a price today. Sometimes "favors" cost more than just having it done properly.

lol, I wish! wrong kind of machine though, its for sharping hobs...long story. Problem is the "welder" here at work blew mult. holes in the stainless before he gave up. Now I have to find a real weld shop to do it for real $$. Should have did that first, or went weldless!
