    Fuggledowns Ginger Beer

I used a path, and typed around the path. Photoshop was used last night, usually gimp. Basically I selected the 'inner' gradient - blue through white, inside the blue border. Then grew the selection by a bunch of pixels - 30? 40? can't rememeber. In the 'paths' palette I made it into a 'work...

    Bubbles in Bottles?

seems to me that the longer you leave it to mature the better the bubbles will stay - they tend to be smaller and the beer head gets smoother.

    Dry-Hemping

The Porterhouse in Dublin did a Hemp beer a while back. Obviously without all the goodness, but with the aroma of walking through Amsterdam. I quite liked it. Brought back memories of my time spent living in Holland

    Canning

Compared to what? I think it tastes better out of a bottle to be honest.I don't know if cans are slightly permeable or something. Maybe I'm phsycologically biased - I've never seen any of the belgian beers coming in cans for example - I kind of figure that if the brewery doesn't care enough to...

    Canning

Thats about the only reason I can think of for canning to be honest - beer from cans ALWAYS tastes nasty. I've never had a beer from a can which didn't taste metallic. Bottles any day.

    Hello from China

i'm just thinking of supplies, grain, yeast etc alone, never mind equipment! I know beer is brewed there, but where to get the supplies - unless your cantonese is top notch!

    Hello from China

Where in china are you? loved the place on my RTW trip last year. spent 7 weeks there wish I could have spent longer. looking back it was defo the highlight of the trip. I have no idea how to help you though, i'd say you'll be well blessed to get any local suppliers! :) Importing from Oz may...

first label what do u think?

I like it, but I'd maybe change the stripes to grey rather than black, might be a bit less 'buzzy' on the eyes..

    Shane MacGowan

Ye are all comparing apples with oranges. 2 totally different types of songwriter and performer. Christy sings a fair few of Shaneos songs, even tells a story in 'Live at the Point' when he talks of drinking pints with him in Pucan, in county Tipperary (great little place by the way) where...

Recipe Request : (Alcoholic) Ginger Ale

Howdy whilst on my RTW trip i discovered a Ginger beer, which was delicious. Would like to make something similar for the summer. I have a generic lager kit, I was going to dump the yeast, add a tin of extract, ale yeast and add 30gm grated ginger and see what happens. Any one got amy better...

    RTW Beer Label Collection

Actually that's one of the misplaced ones - it's Malaysian, couldn't fit it into the SEAsia one, and went to malayisa after NZ so figured I'd put it there!.Same as the Barons. It's the guinness export, ~8% or so, i have had this before in Dublin, lovely. Can't compare to the draught stuff...

    My First Label

yeah the lawnmower man is pretty tiny, the grass overpowers the label

    RTW Beer Label Collection

they didn't seem to want to curl thankfully. i made sure to get the whole label off where possible, not just the top surface - maybe that helped. some of them in SEA and China just slide off cos of the condensation. The Squires ones took a lot of persuasion. I just dried them out flat and put...

    RTW Beer Label Collection

never thought of that. next time perhaps. was tough getting some of them off. some slide rigt off, others like the Wanaka Beerworks and Emersons are actually STICKERS not labels, and they don't like coming off. Developed all sorts of ways of getting labels off. The stickers I found come off...

    RTW Beer Label Collection

Not sure if this is the best place, but as good as any perhaps... As some of ye know I was away off on a round the world trip in 2006. I collected (almost) all the beer labels from the new beers I tried on the way, and have made a collage of them. You can see them here...
