    E brewery complete

Roger that, it looks great. I use 15g for my entire setup, wish I had gone 20 across the board! Cheers, great looking.

    E brewery complete

Real nice looking, congrats. I am definitely jealous of the disconnects on the newer boil coils. When I finished mine last year, I built it with the older style element information and it works great, just a pain to lift with that big ole cord attached during cleanup. Any reason you went...

    APA dry hop suggestions

FWIW, Dry Hops shouldn't be adding a bitter component at all. What size was your batch? I usually toss in 2-3 oz for a 5g batch, for 5-7 days. If it's something larger, I'll go 5+ oz in my 12g ferms.

    Melting Wire?

very confident this will solve your problem. I'm betting that simply putting it under the screw assuming that terminal is clean is going to be the key. Good luck!

    Melting Wire?

Which side (assuming it's one end, since you said you snipped and stripped it as a fix). If the whole wire is heating, you've got to get a larger gauge wire in there. If it's one end specifically, I'd check for corrosion inside the connection (under the screw, etc)-- a dirty connection is a...

    New electric build planned-questions

PS. I'd skip the hop blocker that the electric brewery suggests. I've been entirely underwhelmed with it's performance for the price. Don't get me wrong, it filters hops just fine-- it just seems to clog way more often than I'd like... then I end up with 3 gallons of wort that I can't pump...

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

Here's a good one from last weekend mid-brew to cap off that wall of text!

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

Wow a whole bunch of follow-ups. On the dishwasher front, I don't think we'd see much use of it in the brewery. I actually don't find us dirtying too many items that would actually fit in a standard dishwasher. All of our fermenters are 13gallons, kettles are 15g, and we only usually dirty...

    Dogs

Great Looking Pup, look at those ears!! I'm surprised, I get nothing but crazy looks when I tell people her name is Radar. Personally, I think it's really fitting. :D

    Dogs

Bentley and Radar... You can probably guess which is which. Bentley is 4months, Radar is 5yrs.

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

A couple of things stand out: 1) I'd go with 20G Kettles foremost. 2) likely have dropped my vapor hood down about 12-18" as it sits a bit too high to be fully effective. 3) Gotten a cleanup sink with a drainboard... Would have made cleaning the kettles and cashed-kegs a whole lot easier 4) Gone...

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

Nope, No problems on my end. Sounds like the GFCI is detecting some sort of current leak to ground causing it to trip. I'd double check all your wiring (especially at the element connections) to make sure you haven't got some water intrusion causing that.

Star San off flavor due to spray bottle?

To be clear, in my post I'm still suggesting it's either my bottle (which I spray from) or the water I'm mixing my Star San with. Given the amount of people using Star San, I can't possibly believe it's actually the chemical (when mixed appropriately) that is causing the flavors. My thinking...

Star San off flavor due to spray bottle?

Following this, I've been chasing a plastic-y flavor in my batches for a while. Originally thought it was chloramines/chlorine but I've been using RO Water, I've got campden in every batch. I'm beginning to suspect my stale Star San as well. Next round of kegging I'm planning on mixing a...

    Yet another Corny Kegerator Build

I took the entire door gasket off, pull it back a bit, and you should find fasteners under the magnetic lip. Unscrew those screws (in my case) and the whole gasket was loose. Then I just peeled the hard plastic comparment off of the foam. The hardboard was 3/16" thick, but I layered 2-pieces...

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

@Kawadank - Sorry bud, I never put those together after I finished building. I believe ebrewsupply has updated their schematic and a number of people are using that without trouble. I detailed the changes when I was building in a post, but mainly I disagreed with a few specific things...

How many gallons of homebrew in 2014?

    Hunter's Basement E-Brewery Build

A quick update on my last complaint about the brewing setup: We removed the hopstopper last time, and simply bagged hops. Easily got the additional pickup using the standard dip tube and the beer has cleared just fine in the primary. Jury's out on that filter, just too easy to clog it up...

    Choosing A Conical Fermenter

I'm running two of 'Americanhomebrewings' tanks, which I believe are a mix of Toledo Metal Spinnings conical hoppers and asian import leg kits and valves. The price was right for two, and so far I've been extremely happy with them...
