What no one wants to say

There's a million different beers out there because there's a million different tastes. Beer does not need to adhere to a certain style in order to be good. What one finds mediocre or junk, another finds as their go to. There's going to be breweries that stick to traditional methods and styles...

I think it was mentioned in chapter three of this never-ending saga.

    Help with Faux-toberfest recipe

You might get away with ale yeast in a Marzen as a closer Oktoberfest equivalent. That said, if you can get some 34/70, it does surprisingly well in warmer temps and probably get you closer to style. As far as your quantities go, I would go heavier on the Vienna and a lighter on the Munich. If...

How long must a lager lager before a lager can be called lager? That said, wouldn't a lager still be a lager even if you skipped lagering?

What no one wants to say

Tip or no tip, I just wish we can have a standard POS system. I hate trying to pay and it feels like I'm playing this all over again.

    Morning brew day

Yeah, kinda, sorta... I'll fill the kettle, mill the grains, and hook-up the hoses the night before. Sometimes I'll even overnight mash. Otherwise, getting up early and getting finished before lunch gives you back a surprising amount of your weekend.

What no one wants to say

Stopped in for a pint while out running errands. On my way out, I had a pretty aggressive chuckle when I saw this and remembered your post. I probably looked like a psychopath. I left it... probably couldn't get any more than 40 bucks on the open sign black market.

What no one wants to say

7 dollar pints and a buck tip can easily be made up by stealing the glass, asking for a taste of this and that and this again, then pocketing all the paper coasters and napkins. I went out last night for a pint and I'm up $4.

Plus, beer doesn't have a lot vitamins in it. That's why you have to drink so much of it. #science

What no one wants to say

Geographical location dependent, I'm sure. Around here, craft beer is alive and well. The homebrew shops are good and the taprooms are crowded as soon as they open.

    tasty beer with less alcohol?

I live in the 3% - 5% world. Getting there and remaining flavorful is pretty easy. That said, there are some beers whose flavor, in part, come from the alcohol (Dead Guy ale comes to mind). Making a 'Utah' clone of this one will get you a different flavor. I lean more on the fuller specialty...

How am I supposed to clean glass carboys?

Yes. You would treat it just like glass. I think the only difference is plastic can't go over 140°, or something.

How am I supposed to clean glass carboys?

Damn... first result. Yeah, we don't want to lose lose any CO2. That stuff can get expensive. Plus, no one wants to suffocate. Better ditch the glass.

First Home Brew - Pickle Beer - What you think of my plan?

In OPs defense, we have a brewery here in Fort Worth that is known for its sours and odd beers. One of their most popular is their pickle beer. I think they just release their watermelon pickle, orange pickle, strawberry pickle, and hot pickle varieties. https://martinhousebrewing.com/ I tired...

First Home Brew - Pickle Beer - What you think of my plan?

I went to ChatGPT and got this for you when you need it: You said: How do I clean pickle beer vomit off the carpet? ChatGPT said: Pickle beer vomit is a special kind of awful — between the acidity, salt, and smell, you’ve got your work cut out for you. Here's how to clean it up properly so...

Nice clean paint lines, of course.

    It's called painters tape

Get ready to have your life changed. You can get a sharp edge, even with cheap tape. 1) apply cheap tape where you need it 2) paint down tape line with original wall color. Any bleed will be with this color 3) after drying, paint with new color as you would 4) remove tape and admire razor...
