Is it necessary to buy the O2 system with the inline filter, or will the system be ok without the filter? I bought one without the filter, but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Finally found a detailed water report for the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area...Bicarbonate does not show up on the report. Would it be listed under some other name (HCO3 also doesn't show)?

The first few times I kegged, I was in such a hurry to drink the beer that I turned it way up and shook it to death. Resulted in foamy beers, but still good to drink. Now I follow Sparky's advice and just put on 12 PSI and wait about a week. Works well and is still faster than waiting three...

Ball lock kegs are more popular and easier to find...I would recommend trying to find the ball lock kegs for ease of finding rebuild parts in the future, but for now use this, or make your own, to get the fittings off. Any of the online suppliers should have them in stock. Hope this helps.

Remember, it takes a long time for 5 gallons to change temp....it should be fine, but feel free to send it to me and I will do several quality checks just to make sure;)

The only time I had a boilover was with the lid partially on the pot. Thank god it was outside on a propane burner. The only bad part was it went all over the deck and the burner. What a mess!

Go to Sears and buy the 12pt. 7/8 deep socket...works like a charm.
