    # Moding a KRS-2100 to put the CO2 tank on the outside.

I mean in relation to the CO2 itself. Does it CO2 act differently when in a refridgerated environment?

    # Moding a KRS-2100 to put the CO2 tank on the outside.

What are the advantages or disadvantages to having the CO2 bottle inside the fridge or outside the fridge?

    WANTED: Professional Welder

Wow, lots to digest. Thank you all for the info. That helps quite a bit. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Time to brew and drink about it.

    WANTED: Professional Welder

Thanks for all the responses. I plan on going to my CC and take the classes they offer, just wasn't sure if the Associates was necessary. They have other programs in welding that cert you for specific things, ex. MIG, TIG, Plate, etc. As far as what kind of welding, I hadn't really thought...

    WANTED: Professional Welder

Hello everyone, I am about to embark on something that I have wanted to do for over 15 years now - learn to weld. I will be retiring from the Army soon and moving back to the States and would like to become a welder. My questions are aimed at the people who do this for a living. Not that the...

    Hefewiezen

I would go with a double decoction and lose the Carawheat, but then again I have only made Hefeweizen's the way that I was taught by the local brewer. 65% Weyermanns Wheat, 45% Weyermanns Pilsner malts. Decoctions can be tricky and frustrating, but they are really quite fun once you get into...

I downloaded the spreadsheet and it is all zero's. ????

    Oatmeal stout

Brew it and see what you get. Rest assured, it will be better than BMC beer.

    More 'life' needed.

Is it just me or does it seem easier to add priming sugar to the bottling bucket? I would think that would clear up the 'I think I primed all my bottles' or having to use a funnel or other contraptions. Just saying.

Partial Mash German Hefe idea.... thoughts?

Your IBU's are going to be about 50 (style says 8-15) and the ABV will be a little high (6%). In my opinion it looks like the final outcome will be a highly hopped, sweet tasting, American Wheat beer. I say go for it and see what will actually happen. It could be something awesome.

Beating a "Dead Guy Ale" horse

It's just another name for sugar of some type. I would add them to the last 15-20 minutes of the boil. Make sure you stir constantly and add slowly to avoid scorching on bottom.

    Pop-top mystery.

I am fortunate enough to have access to all the flip top bottles that I need over here in Germany. I replace the rubber gasket every few brews, depending on the condition of gasket. The gaskets are really cheap to buy at any of the online HB super stores. I have never had a bottle not...

    Hefewiezen

You are correct that Saflager W34/70 is a Weihenstephan strain, but not for Hefeweizens. That would be used better in a Helles. I have never used Danstar Munich before.

    Hefewiezen

If you are not able to get a different yeast, and you are feeling up to it, pull half your grist and boil it for about 30 minutes and then throw it back into your mash. That will get you your darker color and mouthfeel as well as that "Hefe" flavor without using any crystal/caramel type grains...

    Hefewiezen

If you use WB-06, you will not get the Hefe you are looking for. It will turn out more like an American Wheat, thin and watery. If possible, try to get one of the actual Hefe strains, like one of these: Wyeast Strains: 3056 - Bavarian Wheat Blend™ 3333 - German Wheat™ 3638...

    Ibrewsmith and cider recipes

Oh, Ok. You originally said iBrewsmith, thats why I was asking what you meant. I can't help with iBrewmaster, never used it. I know there is a way on BeerSmith 2.0 though.

    Brewers in Cheyenne, WY?

If I understand it correctly, the Depot Street Shop is more of a convenient store front for the Brew Pub. So there is basically no dedicated LHBS in Cheyenne. I am willing to open one and with my contacts over here in Germany, I can get some malt straight from the source. My only concern is...

    best software for a newb?

Depends on what type of OS you are going to use. I have a Mac and fell in love with Beer Alchemy. Beersmith 2 is for Mac but does not have the sync capability between devices like Beer Alchemy does. The best way to see which ones will work for your personal taste is to use the free trials...
