Well... I have an opinion on that one too.

    primary/secondary debate

I secondary for one (with two variations) reason: Yeast. I'll either harvest the yeast out of the primary for washing, or I pitch a new batch onto the primary yeast cake.

    Favorite American Brewery

Mine would probably be Three Floyd's if I still lived in Indiana.. Bristol if I lived in Colorado Springs just because of the atmosphere. But, for my overall impression of everyone of their selections -- Oskar Blues

    Wet shaving thread.

I like the RPs much better than the 100 pack of Derbys they replaced. SWMBO keeps buying me other stuff which might get into the rotation but the Tabac is the cornerstone. Anyone else here use West Coast Shaving as their supplier?

    Wet shaving thread.

I use Red Israeli Personna blades. Tabac is the stuff I keep going back to for soap. I have had the Merkur Progress from almost the beginning. Got into wet shaving because of two year long deployments to Iraq. Shaving every freaking day without respite with cartridges was tearing me up. The...

    Bell Jar Bottling?

Bell Jars -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bell_jar_apparatus_during_low-pressure_test.jpg I've heard this a few times the last couple of months and I'm assuming a regional difference between what you're speaking of and what I'm hearing. I now assume you're talking about Mason Jars which...

Patient must you be paduan. Turn down the regulator. Let the CO2 be absorbed. Pressure gauge will go down. Might take a day.

    Saving a too-bitter espresso stout

I cloned Stone Russian Imperial Espresso Stout using the BYO recipe and adding 8 oz of my fairly weak espresso from my fully automatic machine in the fermenter. Damn it's good; and very close to the Stone. http://byo.com/mead/item/1721-brewing-in-the-stone-age

I have done that too. But I actually have three type of fermenters: Carboys, and buckets with grommets and bung holes.

    Christianity and home brewing

I too am a Lutheran. Pastor was the first guy I ever saw drinking a beer from outside the US (he liked some German beers). We went on a church youth group trip to St. Louis and we went to the Anheueser Busch plant. We Lutherans are different in more ways than the women of the church basement.

Yup. I've done it. I wonder how many others have? I pitched my stir bar into my wort with my yeast starter.

    Christianity and home brewing

Amazing. I lived for years in southern Alabama where I was surrounded by well meaning folk who, to me, confused the object with the act or actor. I was frequently told that alcohol was sinful. Alcohol, whether you are a Christian, Buddhist, Agnostic, Jew, Muslim or Atheist is an inanimate...

    Been brewing for 19 years???

SWMBO got me started with a Mr. Beer kit while stationed in Germany in 1997. Crap. That's 17 years ago. But, truth be told, that Mr. Beer kit only made a couple of batches in the 4 years until we left Germany. Too much good beer there. Really started brewing in 2001 when I got to Alabama.
