Nice article about a lady brewmaster

I wonder why there aren't more women brewers. Perhaps crass and ******* comments like this one are a contributing factor. I wonder how you would feel if someone made a comment like that about your daughter.

pure O2 aeration or yeast starter: choose one

I'm new at this but I'm skeptical about o2. I've brewed 2 batches with a starter, and both of them were spitting krausen like crazy after 24h. With both, I just let my wort splash into the carboy via the valve on my turkey fryer, no shaking, no pumping... I can't really imagine how much more...

    5 Gallon Carboy for Fermentation

You could always just scale back your recipes to 4 or 4.5 gallons when you want to use the 5 gallon carboy. Less beer, less mess.

Walker's next target: Wisconsin craft brewers

"Tucked into Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) much-discussed budget was a little-noticed provision to overhaul the state’s regulation of the beer industry...The new provision treats craft brewers — the 60 of whom make up just 5 percent of the beer market in Wisconsin &#8212...
