    Water Rookie...Profile Advice

Most of that report is worthless for brewing. You need to know how much Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), Sulfate (SO4), Chlorides (Cl) and Alkalinity (as CaCO3)... as well as a few others. Do you have that info?

I'm a noob too... but I disagree a bit. If you just add salts to the mash, and then sparge with ro or distilled, I would think your final concentration of salts would be too low... Again... being respectful, I just want to learn how to make great beer! :-)

I would calc. total volume of water needed, add salts to that volume of water and then mash and sparge with that water.

    My Weldless Brew Stand

Cool man! Just as long as they are designed for gas. And I bet you can really dial it in as it's a needle valve! :-)

    My Weldless Brew Stand

Very cool looking build! I'm concerned about the gas isolation valve... it doesn't look "correct" for the application. Where did you find it? Most gas isolation valve are ball valves from what I've seen... then again... I could be completely off the mark! ;-)

    Done after 3 days?

Take your time... don't rush... two batches rushed thru fermentation aren't going to be all that tasty... RDWHAHB!

    Done after 3 days?

Take hydrometer readings for three days. If they are all the same, transfer to secondary. Many on this site don't even use secondaries... just primary ferm. for 3 weeks...
