    Anybody up for a riddle?

If all the melons weighed the same save one then this problem could be done. but if eight are not comparable, then a solution is quite improbable

A local group is on FB, and is investigating a non-FB site to have more control and features. It has just been developed (wordpress), and is at http://lafayetteareabrewers.org/ Check the FB page linked on the site to contact developers.

Denver - love it, hate it? For a new family?

True.....The first rule of loving Colorado is not to talk about loving Colorado! It does keep getting more and more crowded. Now move along there is nothing to see or drink here.

Denver - love it, hate it? For a new family?

Don't remember it being quite this dry by noon....but close and I'm outside of Denver. Also, where would you be working? There are some commutes I would not like, so if you are traffic adverse, as I am, I would carefully check out the traffic to/from work when considering where to live.

    coffee or chocolate extract

I did add cold brew coffee to my last stout, and it worked well. I've since read about coffee extract (tincture) being used for other cooking purposes, and read recipes with vodka/coffee, and long steep times. I'm going to try it, rather than adding cold brew coffee and see how it works...

    coffee or chocolate extract

Tried searching some, but the word extract kills it. Anyway the question is does anyone have experience with using either commercial or homemade coffee or chocolate extracts as an adjunct? Was reading elsewhere about homemade extracts using vodka/coffee and vodka/cocoa, and of course thought...

Teach me to pass on pics, although it achieves the humorous warning status. I vote for no experimental testing unless your on the mythbuster team:D

    Don't Do That.

LOL, just saw this from a friend researching canning and thought of the pressure canning starter wort discussion. So if you are going to, be sure the pressure valve works!!

Low BTUs- pump pure O2 into the burner??

That could make it a bit hotter: The tricky part will be combining the oxygen and propane at the nozzle. Take a look an any torch and the fuel and oxygen don't get mixed till at the nozzle.

    Does anyone carve pumpkins?

re: detailed pumpkins don't last long at all We sprayed all cut edges with PAM and stuck in the fridge. Put outside when really ready, they kept pretty good. The oil decreased the evaporation that kills the shape. But the oil soaked in some too. Never caught on fire from it, but we were...

How much does adding rum affect ABV?

I get about .4% for the increase. I assume it is backwards, as said above. So you are adding 8 ounces of 35% liquid to 512 ounces of 10% liquid. 8 ounces of the extra 25% gets spread across 520 (4*128 + 8) ounces, so 8*25/520 which equals .385 So 10.4%

Making wine in my beer bucket?

from http://modernsurvivalblog.com/preps/safe-plastics-for-food-and-drink/ All food grade buckets are made of HDPE #2 (high density polyethylene), but not all HDPE #2 buckets are food grade. Buckets that are not food grade may out-gas and leach into the container, as well as into the...
