    it'll be down to the mixing,try measuring the gravity of the first runnings next time you brew and measure aain towards the end of the sparge-there is a huge difference.all that heavier stuff naturally just wants to sit on the bottom

    i had the idea of using a cheap air compressor to store the co2 but it was a sort of passing idea, i figured that it probably cost more than just buying it,having said that it may be worth a bit more thought before the idea is written off

    the first two are gear driven so i'm assuming you mean all 3 to be driven? why is that necessary? i would have thought the friction of the grain against driven roller 1 would be more than enough to drive roller 3

    Why one hour for boil?

    yes it is but if you have a burner that can bring 10 gallons to a rolling boil at full power you would adjust its power for 3 gallons to try and get the same boil off ratio. regardless,i do recommend the podcast. :tank:
