    Shelving Rack Brewstand?

    Shelving Rack Brewstand?

I have one in the box in my basement awaiting my electric system build. I'm going to place the vessels on the middle shelf, pumps on the bottom and a hood at the top.

    DME to raise gravity.

I've seen threads stating to add DME to raise low gravity. Is there a rule of thumb? How much extract to raise a given amount?

Anybody know what this fitting is?

It looks like a flare union. It would have 2 male flare ends. Have you seen a replacement nozzle? I think it would have a female flare nut-type end.

    What's up "Wit" this?

Wasn't blowing, but hadn't fallen back into the liquid, as I had seen in other brews. I'm pretty sure I messed up. Just wondering how to proceed.

Any DIY exhaust hood builds for cheap?

I just re-read the OP. I don't think that I would be comfortable with a hood made from a combustible material over gas burner. The fan behind the burner idea seems best to me. After seeing Nattybrew's set up, I'm gonna copy that one, since I'm building an electric rig.

Any DIY exhaust hood builds for cheap?

I'm thinking about building a box out of foam board. I'll seal the seams with epoxy (I have some from another project) Then, paint the rest with more epoxy. cut a hole in the right place for my in-line fan, and done. Epoxy resin is safe for foam, not so with polyester. Could also be done...

    Digital Temperature Controller

I had that thought..Seemed crazy..do-able, but crazy..:mug: My assumption was that the freezer had to function as such. One consideration in blocking air flow is it's effect on the defrost feature. Air flow helps gather frost and condensation. without it, the box would be damp, and defrost may...

    Digital Temperature Controller

Probably not.. The control of the compressor is accomplished through a control in the fresh food compartment. Once satisfied, the compressor will shut off. The temp of the freezer is usually controlled by a combination of the fresh food setting and a damper that directs air through the...
