Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I never felt the need for a brew kettle condenser for my setup. The steam gets exhausted to the outside, and a condensate trap prevents a backflow. The system has worked well for me for over 30 years.

Thanks for the writeup :bigmug: 2017 I participated in a Budweiser Platinum challenge sponsored by a large Texas and local distributor. I declined the challenge at first, but after some negotiations to make changes to my liking a new Platinum was born with more color and flavor changes. They...

What I did for beer today

I am currently testing the brewery hardware inside and outside, thanks to those sand storms. Automation sure helps, and doesn't require leaving the control room.

    What are you drinking now?

I am enjoying a few Oktoberfest beers before my next truckload of play sand arrives. According to the National Weather Bureau, Mother Nature will start after 2 PM. It took me over two hours to move the sand around from yesterday's delivery.

    What are you drinking now?

As an IPA hater for me, @day_trippr makes the best-looking IPAs. The presentation is always amazing.

    Making Mill table thoughts

I never had a mill table, I started with a simple setup 30 years ago. Moving the milled grain from the outside into the brewery and 5 feet up into the mash tun was no fun. After redesigning the mill and integrating it into the brewery automation it was a lot more fun brewing.

    What are you drinking now?

Aren't we being told on another thread that black malt and wheat are the magic ingredients for a perfect beer with a great-looking foam head, what went wrong? A very nice black beer. I brew black wheat beers too.

    What are you drinking now?

For tonight, I chose my old German Dampfbier or Steam Beer. It is the crystal clear version I prefer. The beer was brewed in June and still has all the qualities of a wheat beer. I like 53% Pils, 22% Vienna, and 25% Munich I Weyermann malt in my Dampfbier and the 3068 yeast.

They do claim it's 100% glassy. All their other caramel malts are 95% glassy.
