    I spent most of the day celebrating St. Arnulf's birthday with a homebrewer, drinking our brews. St. Arnulf of Metz, 582-645, is known as the patron saint of brewers. He was a Frankish bishop of Metz. In English, he is known as St. Arnold.

    I think control from both locations is required if your equipment is not close to your office or control room.

    " There’s no reason to keep your old controllers for temp display." For redundancy, it's a great idea. In case of automation failure, he switches back to PID control. All or most of the old components may work with the automation, too. Redesigning the circuit gives him both options.
