New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Ok thanks. I gave that a try. But that technique doesn't allow you to narrow your results to just the recipes portion of the forum. Evening using "recipe" in the search gives results mostly in the forum section. I still think moving it would be beneficial, especially for new brewers coming to...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Is there anyway we can have a Mod move this thread out of recipes and into the forums? I know it started as a recipe but now it's almost 500 pages of discussion. The only problem I have is I am trying to search the recipes for hazyies based on some specific criteria I want and all I get is 10...

    APEX San Diego...WTF?

That’s a bummer to hear. I wonder if it was the temp or the alcohol? Mine was just 5.8% with an OG of 1.052 and finished right where I expected. Guess I’ll use my jar for something I want esters in and go back to Cali or 05 for my normal brews. .

@JCasey1992 may not have as easy a decision as he thought.

FotD Beer Swap XXXI: Brew Unto Others

Nice. Your offer just gave me a list of breweries I need to go. I'm in Longmont and haven't been to any of those.

    APEX San Diego...WTF?

Just wanted to update. Overall I’m happy with the yeast. It finished quickly at the FG I was expecting. I cold crashed for two days and it has come out fairly clear. Harvested a mason jar to try it again later. Only problem I had is the beer has some esters that I wasn’t wanting. Not bad at all...

FotD Beer Swap XXXI: Brew Unto Others

Doesn't really matter to me when we do it. Since it's past picking time and we don't have the photos or pick order we are obviously pushing it back. But I would appreciate an update on what we are actually doing. I've got some things coming up so need at least a few days notice of the beers and...

    Mountain Style IPA

As the starter of the thread that was linked above I can tell you this is a very hard beer to track down. I did so many hours of research trying all the keywords and what I got is basically contained in that thread. One video from YouTube. I made that beer but with hops to match Mountain...

    APEX San Diego...WTF?

Just wanted to add to this. Last week I pitched APEX San Diego onto a Wit beer that I've made many times with WLP001. My stash was out and my LHBS stopped carrying White Labs so figured I'd try it. Dry pitched onto 1.052 wort. It took like 36 hours to really take off but then went mad. It's been...

BIAB attempt at Tree House IPA

Sorry I wrote "pressure" and should have prolly put "closed" transfer. If you wanted to do a pressure with dip tube you'd need the same amount of hardware probably. But I did find with the good bucket lids you get at the hardware store, not the brew bucket lids, that a brew bucket can handle a...

BIAB attempt at Tree House IPA

If you have a 3d printer I can send you a file for a design I made that allows pressure closed transfer with a 5 gallon bucket. I used it with buckets and now use the same technique on my Fermonster now that I upgraded. Much less hardware than all the stuff posted above.

Foaming after a few days to a week

I don't know anything about the flow control equipment, but I was having a similar issue to this for the last year. Beer would be perfect and then slowly get more and more carbed/foamy. Finally figured out a couple months ago that the needles on my regulator gauge were messed up. They were...
